Hello.....I have had my rescue cat for three weeks now and have kept him indoors. He really wants to go out and I want him to aswell(there's a catflap). However,I am worried that the rescue centre got him as a stray and that he might stray again.I'm also worried about him getting hit by a car....the back of my house is all gardens from the catflap, but if he goes over the 5ft gate and down the alley to the front it's quite a busy road.....

I suppose I'm just very worried that something will happen to him.....your thoughts are much appreciated, thank you.

my friend had been sick for a couple weeks and went to the hospital, turns out she has mono. she has a cat, that honestly is more human than anything, and for about the last 2 weeks this very active cat, has done nothing but sleep, doesnt have much appitite, and just lays around. so because this is basically the same side effect that my friend has, we were wondering if anyone has ever heard of a cat catching mono from his owner. i know that animals do get human illnesses because my dog has colitus, and has to take med.anyway i really would like your input .thanks

My cat had a fever and was vomiting so I brought him to the vet. He is FIV positive and the vet wants to put him down. I know nothing about the disease does the fever mean he is on his way to death? I really don't want to kill my cat. what would you do?

My cat had his penis amputated 11 days ago, due to continual urinary tract blockages. He then had the stitches taken out 2 days ago. Does anyone else have a cat who's gone through this? If so, do you remember how long it took him to recover from it, to the point where he's no longer sore? I neglected to ask the vet, and he's out of town for a few days.

we brought a kitten home a few weeks ago and she had pretty substantial "eye boogers". along with some redness around her right eye, accompanied with sneezing and lots of discharge from her nose. she had gotten alot better, her "eye boogies" went away, and she seemed to be betting over it. only a sneeze here and there. but now the redness is back in her right eye, the extreme discharge from her nose and a good sneezing fit every five minutes have returned. the one thing that stumps me is that she seems totally fine in her behavior, she's playful, lovable and eats just fine.we cannot afford a vet visit. any ideas on something we can do at home or some OVER THE COUNTER remedies?? any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Mommy is still nursing all the time but I sense that shes getting a little burnt out on the whole experience. Seems shes rolling her eyes everytime she knows its time. Shes been a real trooper bless her heart! Im curious at what age they are going to start eating and drinking the baby food and H2O I am giving them. ALso how can I properly socialize them so they arent all weirded out when its time to give them to good homes? They are already veer curious about crawling around "outside" the box although still confined to a special area designated just for them. Also is it normal for them to be playing and biting eachother so much. I know this is alot but I have no idea how to raise them. HELP!! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My 10 month old spayed/vaccinated (but not for leukemia) female indoor cat - for the 3rd time in two months has a swollen bump. This time the bump is on the neck just below the jaw. The first time her whole head swelled up, it looked like the elaphant man and we took her to the vet, got an anti-inflammatory shot and antibiotics and a few days later the swellen was gone. Incidentally, the vet thought it might have been from a bite from another car or an insect. I have ruled out the insects and the bits - because of how the swelling seems to move around. A month or so later, the swelling came back. It came as a bump over the eye and the areas below the eyes (like where the sinuses are) and then they seemed to kind of move around - where sometimes one part of the head was more swollen than another. Or it would go away in parts and arise in other parts. Anyone every seen this before? Since it seems to go away on its own, I haven't done anything else about it.

I Know that I will need to get in touch with a vet but here in oregon it is 99 degrees right now and my cat is home alone with no a/c the window is opened and the fans are on but I am worried because she has fleas right now and this morning she threw up a little bit and I am not sure if it could be heat related or flea related, has anyone come across before in the past? any input would be SO helpful.

I am so scared, all my cats are rescued, most from our humane society, and now they are sick and I have limited funds to live on. I feel like such a bad "parent" and wish I could talk to someone about what to do. If they are contagious, I need to be careful where I take them and not expose other cats to them.

my cat is fine except I've got my house on the market and one of the realtor idiots closed the bedroom door, locking my cat in my bedroom, and as a result there is a very foul odor coming from my bed which I assume is cat urine. the smell went through the mattress, the sheets, even down through the mattress. Is there any way of getting rid of the smell?

I recently became engaged and my fiance has a dog and I have two cats. We are trying to bring the dog around the cats so that they can get use to each other before they live together. My cats have previously lived w/ two other dogs and they have always gotten along very well w/ dogs so I didn't think it would be a problem. Boy was I wrong for some reason one of my cats hates the new dog. He has never acted this way around any other dogs before. My cat charges at the dog, and continually growls and hisses at the dog. Its a little strange and I wanted to know if anyone knows why my cat dislikes this one particular dog.

I would appreciate any advice! Thanks so much :)

I feed my cat three times a day but she acts like she never eats. She barely even chews her food she eats it so fast. I do not feed her "people" food; she eats healthy cat food. But today i dropped a cheeto on the floor when i tried to take it from her, she attacked my hand. Why does she act like I never feed her?

I'm aware of why there are no male calicos (or at least no fertile ones) - it takes two X chromosones to make a calico. But I don't know why the majority of orange or orange tabby cats are male.

Anyone want to chime in?

I have an adult, male cat- I also have three children, 5 and under (and another due in 5 weeks). My cat was neutered and declawed when I got him at five months old. He is now one. He is a great cat, very loving and affectionate, however he does "attack" my husband and I, and our children (they seem to catch most of it). His intentions are to play, and he hasn't hurt anyone, but I'm afraid he could. Plus, it's just annoying. Occasionally he'll do it without any provokation. Anyone know why he does this? Can anyone tell me how to teach him a better way to play- especially with the children!

my cat is pure evil.. she attacks anyone who attempts to pick her up.. (besides me)..she doesn't even like if i pick her up.. she hisses and tries to scratch anyone who touches her.. she bites her own tail untill she screams.. (not all the time but sometimes)..
she got outside and my neighbours found her.. (they are friends of ours) she wouldn't let one of their sons out of his room.. when dan tried to stop her from scratching the window screen she hissed and came at him to attack him .. he had to fend himself off with a lunch bag..

i'm not sure what to do.. anytime i try and spend time with her she just ends up angry
