Cats are tidy animals. But don't ask me why they're tidy. Its unexplainable, kinda like love.

I gave my cat something to eat one time, maybe a piece of fish I was cleaning. The cat was going through the motions of covering it up, even though there was nothing on the floor to cover it with. It made me mad, thinking I was doing the cat a favor by giving it fresh fish, and then it tries to cover it. It still was sorta funny. Pussycats, whatcha gonna do with'em.

Cat's are clean creatures. In the wild cat's do the same thing. I think it has to do with other animals being able to track their scents since generally in the wild they stay in only a small area, dogs are more likely to roam a large area.

Cats are clean animals. In the wild they try to go in areas that are sandy and they try to bury their waste. This makes a lot of sense if you think about it. That way they can keep using the same areas and do not have to wait for the fecal matter to disingrate away. It is a good way to recycle.

Because cats have a biological urge to cover their own scent. When they cover their... stuff... in the litterbox... over and over and over... they're trying to cover up their location so they aren't spotted by predators. Even though they are indoor critters, they still have that instinct.

ya, sometimes I wonder to see this. The small cubs of cat also do that. It must be probably to hide their scents, or they are really clean animals.

It's a deal they make with the pagan animal gods before they're allowed into our world...

they are trying to cover their scent from predators. this is something hardwired in to their brains from when their ancestors used to roan free. fresh poop would alert a predator that fresh meat was in the vacinity. frankly i'm glad when my cats cover their poop, cause it is rather smelly when they don't.
