When my sister's boyfriend comes up to visit for the weekend, the cat hisses at him, but when I come up to pet the cat she doesn't hiss at all; why is that?

The two cats eat adult food, both soft and crunchy, but we have noticed the kitten has really bad gas, could it be the food? We fed the older one the same food when she was a kitten, and she's never had a gas problem. The little guy has the worst farts!

Even Gurdjieff agrees, what are your reasons?

My mother has said that it would. My current cat is an outside cat that comes in for the night, food, and the litter box.

If i were to get this kitten who is not old enough to be brought home yet, so i have a bit of time to wait, he would be an inside cat.

My current kitty is a male, but he's neutured and doesn't spray or anything. the other kitten is male(from what i can tell) and he would be nuetered as well. My current cat is declawed on teh front claws, as would be this kitten.

Do you know of any behavioral problems that might occur? anything i should look into? should i just not get this kitten?

OK, this'll probably need to be answered by an "older" cat owner (no offense, over 25-there's reason). My husband and I have one cat - we don't have kids, she's family. I'm kinda scared to say her exact age (when I tell people say stuff like, "Wow, she's so old she's going to drop dead any minute!" )which I know&understand, but don't like to be REMINDED every day since all we can do is just give her lotsa love. Anyway she's been around since Clinton was elected. She eats, pees etc sleeps & walks normally, still, happy to play with toys, a little arthritis but healthy (4 her age). She's meowed more than usual but always been "needy" (I may run out of room & have to explain when people ?) but the last month she's walked around MEOWing WAY more than usual. I'll walk in to check & she'll be sitting there like, "what?" we checked her & she's not sore anywhere, etc.Is this normal for older cats?Maybe she's :(getting senile/confused more now? We're getting nervous-is it normal? Experiences?

I would not recommend these for your cat, I got it, it grew some weird looking grass, my cats ate it and threw it up all over the place, then when I got a fake plant, it had some carboard like stringy things in the base, they ate the cardboard things and puked that up all over the place, now Im afraid to get any type of plant, because they will probably eat it and puke all over the place. :(

Well my kitty is always playful but once in a while it will have green puse like stuff in its belly button area and sometimes his
stumic will expand and get to its normal by morning.

Since then he's acting depressed, grouchy and almost like he's sore in his belly. Could it just be a behavoir problem? He unfortunetely hasn't had his shots yet.I try to keep him inside but he keeps shooting outside every time the door opens. Limited funds keep me from running to the Vet all the time unless it's important. Any ideas?

My cat is about 5 years old. For the past ~2 months she has been urinating in strange places (i.e. leather sofa and the guest bedroom's bed). I adopted a puppy in Dec of 2006 but she doesn't bother the cat. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO STOP THIS! I don't know why she's doing it or how to change things so she won't. My boyfriend says i have to give her away and refuses to let her out of the cage. I have had her for a while and I just don't think i can give her away at this point. PLEASE help!!

I need help to get rid of these cats!!Theres a major problem & i cant seem to take this any more. This what began, my wife & i first moved in, it was perfect. This guy had couple of stray cats it was no big deal. In time that passed, it created 7 kitties (2 died recently) and 3 more stray cats. So do the math on cats & fleas. I thought so. Anyway he allowed the cats sleep in his closed garages, under our apt. & his house, under all cars, on all door steps, i mean everywhere! He dosent even own any of these cats not even the mother cat but one.My wife, my neighbor, & i have tryed to talked this guy out all he does is watered the pavement, his mentally in the 30's. this is very embarrassing that we have fleas in our place in every room and even in my damn car, and im very concern bring them to our work place. Im worry that i might got evicted or cause us to move again, which i dont want. His wife dosent even want the cats around too!He feeds them but doesnt care them, & he is our lanlord!

I recently took in a stray that was hanging around my house... she was obviously previously a house-cat as she tried to come inside everytime I opened the door, uses a litter box, and is quite friendly and cuddly for a "stray." I thought she was pregnant because her nipples were quite swollen but they disappeared over the few weeks before I actually took her inside. Once I brought her in I bathed her, and I noticed some little black dots around her nipples... her nipples are quite protruded, but she is not producing milk/nor are her milk glands swollen. The nipples look quite dry and the black dots are on every nipple, but more so on the lower ones towards her hind legs.
I have another cat who is up-to-date with her shots and I just found the same black dots on her nipples, so now I'm quite worried. Is this just "feline acne" that I have read about, or the way cats' nipples are, or something else? What can I do to treat it?
