Wish I had a nickle for every time I heard a person tell me, well I always make sure my puppies/kittens go to a good home!
Do you get veterinary or personal references? Do you do a home inspection? Do you make sure the kittens are taken to a vet? That they get vaccinations? That they get spayed or neutered? Do you check out their financial situation? Do you ask for an adoption fee to make sure they do not end up in an experimental laboratory somewhere? Please read the article title "The Tragedy of Free to a Good Home" at http://www.petrescue.com/library/free-pet.htm
HHMMM Didn't think so! So no, you absolutely do not make sure they are going to a good home!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are currently 98,000 cats on petfinder that need a good home! That does not include the cats in state or city pounds that get euthanized every single day of the year! Nor does it include the cats/kittens owned and neglected by people such as yourself, or the feral/wild cats that roam this country due to people not spaying and neutering their pets. Why do you want to contribute to this problem? WHY??? It does not cost that much to spay or neuter a cat! Contact your local humane society or SPCA, these organizations will even do it for FREE for a low income person.
Irresponsible pet owners such as your self should not ever be allowed to own another pet, without first educating yourself to the facts and responsibilities of pet ownership! Irresponsible, uncaring people like you make me so angry.

You may NOT want her to have kittens at such a young age. Young cats who have kittens have a much higher risk of breast cancer (no, I'm not kidding) than older cats. Another reason you might reconsider is that there are lots of owner-less cats and kittens in the pounds and humane society. Why not save one of their lives?
As for her failure to go into heat -- some females never go into heat. One of mine lived to be 19 and never once was interested in males.

Crikey, all 3 of my cats are females and we had to lock them in the basement or get them fixed cos they drove us nuts with their constant meowing! Believe me, unless you have 5 people to take a kitten, you'll be sorry...just get her fixed! The 4 females we had have had 9 litters between them and except for the last time, the kittens were hard to get rid of and you don't want to give any kittens away to a person that won't take care of it or abuse it!

She should be coming in heat very soon. You will know when she does because the Toms will be knocking on your door and it won't be pretty. If she doesn't , don't worry, there are already too many cats in the world dieing at the pound every day. If you want more cats why don't you go rescue a few.

Well, first I'd have to ask you to consider the overpopulation of cats; if you plan on keeping all the cats, then I'd go forth with your plan. If you dont plan on keeping them, you will be adding to the problem.
Next, your cat is not old enough to become pregnant, it's still a child.
Finally, instead of being so concerned about a new litter of kittens, try enjoying the company of the wonderful cat that you do have.

Maybe she doesn't WANT kittens.....why do you want them, it is not comfortable for the mother cat, and 11 months is too early, she's still a kitten herself. 2 years of age is the youngest a cat should have kittens, in my opinion.
Get the poor gal spayed, she'll be healthier & happier that way.

i have a male cat which is incompetent (i think). i saw a female cat taunting him a few times and he got all heated up, climbed on the she-cats back and.... did nothing. it happen a few times...
my cat also prefers other male cat's companionship and it struck me as i have a gay cat, but after a while i accepted it being that way.
might be ur cat has the same tendency as mine.. we'd never know right? anyways, it seldom happens, as my family has 10 cats and this is the only odd one out. might be ur kitty feels that she is not ready yet. it would be a good thing to encourage ur kitty to have kittens at a later stage of life as sometimes being pregnant might stunt ut kitty's growth and give her some problems.
i hoped this help :)

Please reconsider having kittens. There are so many crowded shelters because of unwanted pups and kittens. Like in another answer, if you want more kittens just for pet purposes, please adopt or search your local paper. It is too dangerous to have any stray come in contact with your "now" healthy family pet. You could be opening the door to many diseases that a stray maybe carrying. And that would be irresponsible.

Perhaps she know that there are too many kittens without homes as it is. She would live a longer, healthier life if you had spayed instead of trying to make her have kittens before she's even a year old.

Why on earth would you want her to have kittens??? Do you not know that millions of cats are euthanized every year due to over population, and not enough homes. Not to mention the fact that it is much, much healthier for your cat if you get her spayed before she has kittens. She is less likely to develop breast cancer, uterine cancer, piometria, or other uterine infections. Have you ever lived with an intact female cat? They are horribly noisy, and howl constantly. They are also less sociable towards their humans.
If you want another kitten to love then please go to your local animal shelter and adopt one!
