i really don't know, none of mine do...one sleeps right beside me, another sleeps on the other side, and the other two sleep at the foot of the bed. (different cats, different preferences)

Some do and some don't. I think it might be because the head is very warm, and besides it's most likely the only exposed part of the body at night.

Because they love you and want to protect you.. My boy cat is half wild and he sleeps snug against my belly... If anyone comes into my bedroom he'll seriuosly start growling and wake me right up.. It's a good thing, cats are very affectionate..

Because they are as superior or more superior then us, why would they sleep anywhere else?? Mine has to either steal my pillow or have her own, but then the rest fight for the best spot on the bed, its cute. (I don't mean litereally fight, but they grab the spot when its open)

So they can see whatever they hear before you do. Its almost like protection from whatever may be lerking in the middle of the night.

Don't know, mine sleeps on my husband's balls, guess cause they're warm. (same reason they sleep in the laundry basket full of warm laundry)
