She is a yellow labrador retriever and she's about 10 months old. She likes to play bite and stuff. I try to hold her mouth shut when she does it but she just keeps on biting. How can I teach her not to bite? Also, how can you teach her "no". Like if she starts biting, tell her no. How can I do that?

They are on his side and mostly on his back. They are "clustered" maybe 6-8. He scratches them and they bleed. I have given him medicated baths, put anti-biotic cream, hydrocortizone cream, which brings some relief but they dont go away. Has anyone had this happen to their dog?
I have changed his dog food thinking it may be an allergy. He comes back in the house like that when he goes out to use the bathroom or just "hang out" in the yard. He doesnt get it from being in the house, only when he comes back in from outside. It isn't ticks or fleas. If they were ticks I would see them would't I and be able to "pull them off"? And fleas, I would be able to see them. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

My German Shepherd dog is almost 2 years old, male and only 75 lbs, he's very skinny and I can see/feel his ribs and this is a big concern for me. I feed him according to his food's instructions, but I'm looking for ways to put some weight on him, but it seems to be very difficult since he is allergic to beef and wheat for sure and possibly chicken and corn. Can anyone recommend, good affordable treats that can help put a little weight on him, or does any know any home-made dog treat recipes for allergenic dogs? Thanks. :3

How many of you take your dogs collar(s) off in the house? I personally dont leave my dogs on. For safety reasons. While visiting relatives and friends, most have the collars on, and some off.

Was wondering if there are any alternatives to spaying a female cat and if so, what (if any) the health risks/side effects are?

No need to give answers about unwanted kittens etc etc.
I completely understand the pro-spaying arguments which I agree with however people tend to get a tad evangelical about it and I'm finding it hard to recieve impartial advice re. alternatives.

And yes, if I don't find an alternative I'm happy with I'll get her spayed so please please resist!

He'd rather starve than eat dog food. The only thing he'll eat is cheese. I know cheese is bad for dogs but there's nothing else he'll eat.

I am trying to train her (Judy), but she isn't getting some stuff. She knows "come" and "stay" really well, thanks to my other dog, who knows the command "come", so she followed her, and she knows it now :) but she isn't getting sit very well. The place where we adopted her from said she knew sit, but apparently she didn't. I keep trying to train her, but she wont sit, so how can I do it? And any other cool tricks I can teach her a little later on to impress people? I heard border collies were smart enough to do that :D thanks

I have a 9 month old Lab/White Shepherd mix. He's a neutered male, and until really recently was quite hyper. He has started to calm down inside my apartment, but I still would like a dog that is more of a cuddler with me, and who could be a companion to my dog. I work 8 hours a day, while the pup stays home.

I am considering a rescue dog: 3 year old, 65-pound, neutered male who is a snuggler, guards the house, is used to living with other dogs, and is calm.

My question is this, should I consider getting him? I know it costs more money, and I can't expect their playing to substitute for our daily walks, but do you think it would help the younger boy settle down? If the older, newer dog was better behaved, which way would behavior rub off (both are housebroken, by the way). Would a dog buddy be that beneficial?

As far as living in the apartment, it is spacious, and pretty well set up to be dog-proof. Also, I would still be within my restrictions as far as pets go, even with two.

I'm hearing more and more about this Cesar Milan show these days. I've seen a couple of his instructional videos, but never his TV show. Does anyone know the time, and channel it comes on?

I was walking home from taking my daughter to school and this little doggie followed me home....and he followed me like I was its owner....no tags....dirty.....and acted hungry. I felt really bad so I let it follow me home and gave him a bath and fed him. I would really like to know what the breed is. He is very calm and has only barked once, he likes to sit on my lap. Here are a few pictures. I think it might be a mix because I went to the UKC website and couln't find anything like it. If possable can you find me some links to pictures or details about this dog. Good luck and thank you.

He's always been very healthy and has a very good background. He's flinching when you go to pet his face and he turns his head away from you when you try to pet his face. He's also laying down differently and he's not acting like he usually does. He seems much lazier. We ARE taking him to the vet today, but does anyone have an IDEA of what's wrong with him? Please help!

MUTT this and MUTT that.... so what if a little 12 year old girl wants a fluffy Lhasa-Poo or Puggle.... I just read a post where some of you were BRUTAL to a girl about her "Morkie" Give me reasoning why it even matters?

*I am a fan of purebreds. Though this does not mean I am not soft to very cockapoo i see! lol*

I'm prepared to get beat up for this one. I know you will give me fascinating examples about shleters and such. Though as always, I love to hear all of your opinions.

Was wondering what strange or weird ailments and conditions you've seen in horses or things that made you think "what the...?"
I've seen a few strange ones including a foal that had it's head fused around to it's neck (c-section), and a foal born with a hare lip and cleft palate and no eyes. One of the weirdest things I've ever seen though was a mare with vestibular syndrome. She had a foal on her and was perfectly fine but then we started commenting that when ever you led her out to the field with the foal, she was ignorant and had started running over people and barging. She quickly declined and would drool, run in circles and have her head hung on one side. She then turned vicious and I mean vicious. We had to take the foal and put it on a nurse mare and put her out in the covering barn for her and our safety. She displayed symptoms of rabies and we had to check that she had never been out of the UK - finally was diagonosed with Vestibular Syndrome.

One of my furry best friends is my calico feline. She loves to sleep with me or take naps with me. She loves for me to play with her. She can BADLY irritate me one minute, and have me bust out laughing the very next second. She's a goofball, making me laugh a lot. Though it can be irritating, but she slaps me when I'm sleeping wanting to be played with. Well, at least she loves me enough to do that. It would have been different if she was declawed, then it would not bother me because it would not hurt. She follows me around sometime. When sleeping, whatever way I'm facing, she repositions herself to lay whichever way I'm facing. One of the funny things she does is one time I was laughing so hard at a moment while watching tv, she ran off my lap.
A great-aunt of mine has three sweet cats. They LOVE people. My other furry best friends. The last time I saw one of them, she gave me kisses for a few minutes on the back of my hand.

I noticed my dog wasnt acting normal the last few days and she got worse last night so I rushed her to the emergancy vet late last night. The told me she has a swollen and puss filled uterus and her cervix is closed and it is very fatel if it bursts and it was so swollen that it could burst any minute. So I rished her to her own vet and they rushed her into surgery this morning. She is 9 years old and im so worried about her right now. Has anyone gone through this and if so did your dog recover well after? I want her to feel better and not in pain so im hoping she has a fast recovery. I just need some encouragment.

We had chicken last night and my roommate stayed up and partied. She and her friends left out chicken bones and my kitten took about 5 chicken bones into the bathroom and devoured them. I heard chicken bones are horrible for dogs and kittens cause they can splitter. My kitten is *mean* but, will he be okay? I noticed the whole top of one of the bones was gone...
