I was walking home from taking my daughter to school and this little doggie followed me home....and he followed me like I was its owner....no tags....dirty.....and acted hungry. I felt really bad so I let it follow me home and gave him a bath and fed him. I would really like to know what the breed is. He is very calm and has only barked once, he likes to sit on my lap. Here are a few pictures. I think it might be a mix because I went to the UKC website and couln't find anything like it. If possable can you find me some links to pictures or details about this dog. Good luck and thank you.

He is about the size of a pomeranian.
very light, of the top of my head I would say 7 or to 10 lbs.
I think he needs to put on a few lbs. His rib area is kind of skinny....unless you may think that is normal?

He's a cute little mixed breed. It's really anyone's guess as to what went into his mix, by the looks of him I'd say he's not a cross between 2 purebreds but much more likely mostly mutt :) He could have some pomeranian in him, but not a whole lot. Pet Poms look ALOT different than Poms bred for the show ring, so don't rely entirely on breed descriptions from show organizations ;) On the other hand, it might not be Pom but anyother spitz breed instead, like say, American Eskimo. Be sure to contact the local humane society and some local veterinarians to see if anyone has reported the little guy missing- I'm sure if he's as great as you say that someone is out there looking for him :) -Neb

Before you keep this little baby in your home, with your kids, be sure to vet him/her. You need to have him examined for the usual. Tell the vet how you found him and the vet will know what to do. And, the vet can tell you where you might want to look for the owner. Anyone who might have lost this little baby will be absolutely frantic until they find him and, little guys like this one are not typically homeless, as little guys get eaten by bigger guys long before they reach this age.

You have done a wonderful thing. Go one step further and make a true effort to find out if it is simply a friendly dog who is acutally lost and just followed you home for food.

Could be a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, however that would not account for the long back. The coloring and face remind me of the Finnish Spitz, but it is still mixed with something else. Very cute pup!

I agree with everyone who said Pomeranian. After that, I might guess Welsh Corgi, but I'm not real familiar with that breed, so I could be way off. Another helpful website, especially for pictures and breed decsription, is dogbreedinfo.com.

Thanks for rescuing a pup, and be sure to take him to the vet to get checked out so you can welcome a healthy new friend into the family! Good luck

It looks like a Pomeranian and a long hair Chihuahua! Hope this helps! You could also aways take the puppy to the vet and ask them as well. They usually are really good at telling you the breeds!

I'm gonna say Pom and Chihuahua like the poster but it's hard to tell size in the pic. There could be some terrier in there too, or spitz which looks like a big pom. Never can tell sometimes, but he looks like a good little dog.

He really does look like a fox doesn't he? He is really beautiful. He looks like a Pomeranian mix. Also might I say, it's people like you who take pity on a lost and hungry dog and show them kindness. the rest of us respect and appreciate. I personally think you should keep him, he chose you after all and who can turn down that cute face?

First poster might be right if the dog is very little. How big is he? (Hard to tell from the pic).

ADDITIONAL DETAILS - based on weight, definitely Pomeranian mix, possibly with Chihuahua.
