They are on his side and mostly on his back. They are "clustered" maybe 6-8. He scratches them and they bleed. I have given him medicated baths, put anti-biotic cream, hydrocortizone cream, which brings some relief but they dont go away. Has anyone had this happen to their dog?
I have changed his dog food thinking it may be an allergy. He comes back in the house like that when he goes out to use the bathroom or just "hang out" in the yard. He doesnt get it from being in the house, only when he comes back in from outside. It isn't ticks or fleas. If they were ticks I would see them would't I and be able to "pull them off"? And fleas, I would be able to see them. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

Have you taken him to the vet? If you've already done all of that other stuff it is probably either mange or allergies. Neither of which are that big of a deal if treated quickly but you need a vet's help. My dog had allergies earlier this year and by the time it turned into sores we could see we found out that she had a staff infection and could have gotten really sick or died if we had allowed it to get worse. So from my experience I woulod take him ot the vet ASAP!

You wouldn't necessarily be able to see fleas, no, especially if there are only a few. But if the dog is allergic to fleas, one or two fleas will be enough to drive him nuts - and frankly, the location of the lesions as you've described does sound fairly like flea allergy, in which case you will get nowhere treating these sores if you're not treating the dog for fleas.
Comb through your dog's fur. Look at the fur on the comb. You're looking for flea dirts (poos) rather than fleas, as these are much easier to find. Look for black specks in clusters. Press any black specks you find on to wet tissue - if they're flea dirts, they'll bleed red in to the tissue and you'll know your dog has fleas, in which case you need to pick up some proper flea treatment, for your animal and your house, from a vets. NOT a pet store!
If it's fleas, you need to go to a vets. If it isn't fleas, you need to go to a vet to find out what the problem is. Have you been to a vet? Have you told the the situation is not yet resolved?

Has he been around any other dogs? I use to work at an animal clinic and the only thing off the top of my head is that he could have mange. It gets really uncomfortable for the pup so I would get it checked out right away. And if you have a dark haired pup it is not always easy to see fleas.

Maybe he rolled in an ant pile. go to your vet, there's a spray they sell for itchy skin for dogs.

wow that sounds bad have you taken him to the vet i just hope your dog gets better i love dogs hope for the best for you and your dog
