After all it is not something they would find in the wild so they would have no instint for it. I find even when I put them in a new cage with new layout they take only a few moments to learn how to use the new equipment. Also can I put different varietys of hamster together in the same cage

earlier, i posted a question asking what i should do about this skinny (poss. stray) cat in my back yard.

well, ive decided to leave food out for her, to try to gain her trust. she is still out there, she finished the tuna i put out there.

i believe its a "her" because i saw her belly, and it wasnt a guy

she doesnt have tags on. and she didnt run, but is still shy.

i put water out for her too, but i was wondering if i should go out and buy cat food (i dont own cats anymore), or what else should i feed to her?

Her left leg is definately broke, the vet is closed until tomorrow morning. She's probably going to need pins in her leg and I was just wondering about how much it would cost??? We live in the country and she's an outside dog, but for now she's in a heated shed with plenty of food and water available to her. We live in MN so the winter's get pretty cold. Can anyone help me with what I should do for her until tomorrow and tell me the price of how much the pins will cost???

in the wild ponds the waters not going to stay warm unless
its in the tropics and alot of places there not in the tropics
and i dont heat my water and my turtles have been living
with me for about 5 yrs. and the water is always cold and they're used to it they eat plenty and swim plenty and sleep plenty they dont have any diseases. therefore im curious when they say turtles need warm water. they get along just fine in the wild and when petco or aquairum stores say the water needs heating they dont know. They just say that because so they could sell more products.

I have a 12-week old kitten who over the last several days has been pooping soft stools. It isn't quite diahrrhea - they are formed when they come out but as soon as you touch them they turn mushy (sorry, but that is the only way to describe them!). My kitten has always had a little bit softer stools than his brother but these have just seemed a bit softer still. I've taken him to the vet, he has no worms or parasites and is just getting over an eye infection (he was on terramycin). Should I be very worried about this? He is completely normal in all other aspects: super playful, sleeps well, eats normally, drinks a lot of water and does not make any sort of strainful noises when in the bathroom....just the soft stool. Help!

How can I tell the diference between whether my dogs are fighting or just playing rough? I have a 9 week old austrailian shephard and a yr and a half yr old boston terrier. They chase each other around and jump on toup of each other and growl and show teeth and bark but ive never seen them really bite each other besides just a nip. Also the puppy constantly keeps coming back at the bostont errier nipping at his face and the terrier growls and barks and nips the puppy but never bites hard. What are some ways to tell the difference?

I will fit the new cat door on the box so she will have to use it to come out for dinner! Then when the door is fitted to the house she will have less problem operating it. Had her 3 weeks now she has been in the garden on a long lead and knows her way back. Plan to let her out on her own next week

My dog is 13 years old. The past few days she has decided not to eat anything, but she keeps throwing up dark brown (nearly) black liquid, the consitancy of really runny diarrhea. She's also become very inactive and sleepy. I try to force liquids down her throat, but she simply throws that up... alone with more of the black. Could these be symptoms of dying from old age/her organs shutting down?

The dog name is spike we've had him seen he was born. He is about 6 months old. We was just told he has kidney failure and that we should have him treated. But to do this it cost about 800 dollars and we can't affound it. see my dad work all day and most of the night to support our family and my mom stay's at home trying to keep everything going. Dogs bark and lunge at me wherever I go! It happens all the time. Even with dogs who never bite and who "like everybody." The same thing happens to my dad. Do you have any idea why this may be happeneing and what I can do to help myself? Any answer you could supply would help!

How long til they realize that they bought a mixed breed dog that can't be registered or anything at all, and yet, they paid FULL PUREBRED price for this mixed breed dog?

I went in to his room to say goodnight and i noticed something in his fur. It was brownish and i thought he had scratched himself and gotten a scab. So i looked and it was a bug and it crawled away before i could get it but there's like bug **** in his fur. And i was just giving him a bath and i was combing out his fur and i found another. Could it be lice? or maybe fleas? I don't really remember what lice looks like and i've never seen a flea. He also has ring worm on top of that. Should i took him to a vet immediately? or could i wait a few days? i love him more than anything and i'm really worried. Ever since we got him in 2003 he's had medical problems. He's only 5 and i don't want to loose him. My mom keeps threatening to give him away. He has had ring worm twice and now this. And on top of that he shits and pees all over the house. He gets stressed very easily and i don't want to have to give him up and make him more stressed. He had 7 homes before we got him in only 1 year.

I need advice as I am going out of my mind with my new shih tzu puppy. She is 8 weeks and is 99% puppy pad trained however when she isnt getting attention from barking she goes anywhere but the pads for wee's and poo's as if to say " yeah you will have to give me some attention now "!! My dog the past week or two has been acting not like herself. Really lethargic, and shes usually happy, bouncy, playful etc. The night before last night, she puked like twice, then she kept puking all day yesterday, and wouldnt eat anything not even chicken or hamburger and that is not like her at all. So we took her to the emergency animal clinic last night and they did tests and blood work, it came back with VERY high levels of some kind of chemical the kidney produces during kidney failure or something like that. They said they dont know if it is acute or chronic she may have just gotten into something and it could be flushed out but they werent really leaning towards that.

Shes only 8 years old and such a happy and wonderful dog..shepard huskie mix. We love her to death.

How long can a dog live with chronic kidney failure?

Yesterday his eyes were half-open, floating in the water, legs down in water. Today, his eyes are closed and sitting on floating sponge, legs drawn into shell. If I touch him, his skin is soft and retracts (not rigid.) I read somewhere that if the water is cool (not 80+ degrees) or they are about to reproduce/mate, the slider turtle may go into hibernation. Is this true? If so, how long do they hibernate? Can I bring him out of hibernation with a warming lamp? SHOULD I bring him out of hibernation or is this part of the 'cycle of life'?
