Im finding it very hard to ignore !!! Help ?

I have tried taking her outside with a pad but she just wont go potty she comes back in and does it in the house on pads. She is a madam she grunts at me when she is mad I can see many problems with this one. I decided to stick with puppy pads and gradually move them near back door and then take it outside as she is still very young. I have her in a crate at night and she never cries to come out, in the day I have her crate open with a puppy pad in the same room ( Our living room / dining room is open plan so she is sectioned off in the dining room - she can still see us and is normally vey happy with going in her crate to sleep and coming out to potty on her pad -Its just sometimes she howls and barks at us for attention we ignore her but then she just potties either in her crate or anywhere on the floor except pad !! I just dont know what to do for the best ???

Is the happening at night when everyone is trying to sleep or during the day? If it's during the day, she is still a puppy and needs to be constantly monitored. Puppies are high maintenance and to require a lot of attention. If it's a night, she should be put in a crate.

At only 8 weeks old this is one little baby. You will have to have much more patience and understanding before she is housetrained. It's usually around 4 months before they are 100% there! Be patient - try little treats when she's good on the pads and praise her lots. I have 2 female shih tzus - onejust 5yrs, one 4 1/2 years, lost male of 10 1/2 years a while ago. I'd love your puppy!

8 weeks old and your complaining abut a lack of toilet training! she's a baby..you can't expect her to have full control of her bodily functions...thats what puppies do, and if you don't like it you shouldn't have got a puppy.

When she does something she isn't supposed to..like toileting in the house..tell her a firm NO! when you catch her doing it, then mover her outside, she will associate soon enough, but you cannot expect a two month old pup to be house trained, thats just foolish!

also when you do not have time to give her attention either put her in a secure puppy pen with pads..so if she does toilet you can't moan about it, or crate train her...there are plenty of good books in stores about this sort of training, i think it might be worth you getting a couple

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/NzvHv

For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

what is your problem you have a young pup, they are a lot of work, you have not had her five minutes she is just a baby, and you say she is 99% trained my god give her a break and dont lock her in a crate im sorry but i think that is so cruel ive trained so many pups, and never had to lock one in a cage, dogs are not meant to be locked in a cage, if owners dont have the time to spend with a new pup, and have to lock them behind bars then im sorry they shouldnt have them, i realy dont believe in putting a dog behind bars, locking them away where they cant get out im sorry but i think that is so cruel give the dog some attention that is what pup wants just like a baby for god sake
