No,no, no.No cow milk for your kitty cat. I own 13 & know not only from experience, but from my vets too, that milk is not a good choice of food.Milk can give kitty diarrhea as afore mentioned.Canned is not good for kitty, especially if it is a male. You should find a nutritious dry food that kitty likes.I use cat chow & science diet mixed together, but that's just me.You don't want a food too high in protein as it can cause urinary track infections just like canned food.It is also a good idea to mix a urinary track "helper" food in with your regular dry food.Purina has one & so does science diet.Kitty will adjust to the dry food eventually.Be sure you leave a little bowl of it & fresh water where kitty can get to it when she wants.Feeding her the proper diet & taking her to the vet as needed will insure her a longer, healthier life.Do'nt forget her vaccinations. Some of mine cats have lived to be as old as 16! Good luck to you & good eating to Miss Kitty.

Kittens need milk when young, but the older they get the more it causes problems. As already stated. I would defiantly look into a new kind of dry food or give it a chance with some wet food or perhaps mix it up and take turns or days giving it one or the other. Also may want to at least call the vet clinic ask if there is anything they know that can help or if the cat needs to come in. At the very least they can send you in the right direction. Good luck!

When you your cat prefers milk over dry cat food! does this mean that she can only chose between the two, what fish, tinned meat, and other stuff. Cat's can be funny about food you have find something solid that she will eat and that may mean experimentation, you need to ask her old owner what she was eating before and try that, as long as it's not milk a little yes, but only, No. she will have the probs. pointed out by the other and probs with her teeth.

Milk can give a cat serious diarrhoea, which can lead to dehydration. If the cat won't eat dry food, moisten it with a little water or mix with some wet food. Or try a different brand of dry food.
Have you had the cat checked by your vet? There could be some medical reasons for your cat's dietary preferences ... dental problems, stomach troubles, etc.

Your cat can have a little milk as a treat, but too much is not a good diet. If it has been drinking this for a while, it is better to gradually reduce the amount rather than quiting cold turkey. And start getting the cat used to wet food and always keep clean fresh water available.

Cow milk will cause severe diahrrea in most cats, but I've found that goat's milk is tolerated very well. Unlike people, milk is not the "best, all-round" food for cats. Try to give it some canned meat, and hold off on the milk. If it gets hungry enough, it'll eat the meat. Just don't leave it sitting out for long....try a tablespoon at a time, to see if the cat is interested. Good luck...............

Milk is not a healthy diet for cats. They need cat food. Try giving your cat canned cat food. Try several flavors. There should be a kind she likes. Buying cat food is cheaper than milk too.

Obviously YOU are giving him the milk..so STOP giving it to him. I assume the cat is not going down to the grocery store himself and picking up a gallon for himself! YOU are in charge of your cats diet...NOT the cat. He will eat what you give him..so give him cat food and not milk.

I had a cat like that and it turned out that she couldn't actually eat the food as her teeth were so bad. I got the teeth fixed and now she eats anything. She still asks for milk but now she gets the lactose free stuff as it doesn't upset her stomach.

Most cats are lactose intolerant. Stop giving it milk. Put down a bowl of dry cat food and water and she will eat it when she gets hungry enough.
