We took our 14 week old german shephard pup to the vet to see what is wrong as to why she will not eat. She does not have parvo,or distemper. She did get a dog biscut after she was done at the Vet's office and she ate that.
But once we got her home she will not eat anything but the Milk-Bone Dog Biscuts. I feed her IAMS puppy food she will not even eat Beefy Pedigree canned food Why is that ?
We even tried to give her a Piece of a McDonalds hamburger and she would not eat that . But if you give her the milk-bone biscut she gulps it down ..

I have two old female mutt dogs. One of them is deaf and blind and shy. The other one (a small mutt), used to play with her and still has energy, but the blind dog prefers to sleep, so the smaller one gave up in playing.
My neighbour is taking care of a mixed Miniature Pinscher, whom her daughter doesn't want anymore, this woman doesn't like dogs and has him alone all day long :-(
A month ago, he stayed for an hour with me and his energy fascinated me, although my blind dog hid and the other one was not sure about the little boy.
Today my neighbour told me she is leaving for a while and offer me the dog as she will leave him alone (again). This breaks my heart as I like the dog. So I told her that I will have him visit us, to see how they adapt.
The Miniature Pinscher is dynamite, never stops running, I have doubts if I am doing the right thing. My small dog seems territorial (as it is obvious) and the Pinscher well when he has to return he doesn't want to go out of my house.

my puppy is 7 months old and 22 lbs, both cats are 12lbs. I have heard that you can buy flea treatment for one large dog and split it up between the 3 of them but i don't know how much I should give each and if this is a safe practice or not. Please help!

Should I rush him over to the vet and spend all that money for them to look him over, or should I just hold off and see if his "attitude" changes at all, This has never happened so I am unsure if he will be ok and I shouldent worry or if this is an emergency and I need to go NOW. Please let me know

I called the vet about cleaning her teeth and got an estimate of anywhere from $180.00 to $400.00. Anyone know of any less expensive approaches?

Please excuse me while I hop onto the soapbox for a few minutes here. But there are things that I just really don’t understand here in Answers.
Why do so many people post questions here when they know that they are not going to get the help that they are asking for? No, no… I am not saying that there are not thousands of people here that don’t want to help! No, the ones that I am talking about are the ones that ask the questions that we are not qualified or willing to help with. Such as my dog is dying and I can’t/won’t take it to a vet. Tell me how to “fix” it or it is going to die. No semi-intelligent person on this site or any other is going to take up that flag and try to fix a strangers animal on sketchy information and without a medical degree. I am a vet tech… but I am talking Medical license here such as DMV. Not even a VET is going to give diagnoses and treatment over the net. What gets to me more is that a lot of the people that post these questions are not necessarily new to this site. Are they all just out to get the fur up on people that care or are some of them actually thinking that they have a chance of getting an on-line miracle cure?
And another thing: Why do many of the people ask for advice and then get angry or even belligerent when they don’t like the advice given to them. When you go and ask a virtual encyclopedia of strangers for advice and a vast majority are telling you the same thing again and again… shouldn’t that be a clue that the advice just may have some merit to it? And why even ask if you have your mind made up anyway? Why waste your time or anyone else’s? I really like Answers and I have met some really good, intelligent people here but sometimes, quite frankly, my legs get tired from wading through the idiots to get to them.
Everyone needs help from time to time. I am just concerned that those people stand a chance of getting lost amidst all of the people that just really don’t care and post for reasons that I can’t figure out.
Ok… Someone else can have the soap box for a bit. I am really not sure if anyone has answers for me on this one but if you do I would LOVE to hear it.

Hello, I'm one of those hated owners who run a "puppy mill," as many people are quick to judge people on here who ask question about their pregnant, whelping bitches. I have one of my GSD's who is due anytime.

She is beginning to hide now, like going to our bedroom to her bed on the floor, she whimpers at least once or twice an hour, but other then a little discharge that is a light cloudy white, almost watery type fluid, she isn't doing much else. Or rather, I've noticed more today her stomach tightening up, where you can really feel the outline of her pups, if not see them.

This is her second litter, but I wasn't here for her first, as I was out of town, and my husband was the only one here. I hadn’t made it home until the first pup had already been born, and my husband said she had showed no signs that she was going to deliver, and actually delivered the first on the concrete, while my husband was outside working.

I've been taking her temp. for the past week, and she has been in the middle to low 100 degree mark. The night before last she went up to 101.5, then the next morning I noted she was 99.7. Now this morning and today she has been in the low 100-mid/high 99.

Although I’ve been breeding for almost 10 years, I am still new to the temperature theory, and she is the first ***** I’ve actually done this with. So is there anyone who has an idea, or if this means she had her rise, just before her drop, and I’ve now caught her back on the rise?

Should I expect puppies soon, or do I have a few days left on my hands from your opinion of what I’ve written? Normally my bitches are your typical laboring dogs who show more sign of labor, where she is just stumping us all.

I bought him with no papers, or shots. I know some are "detemper", "deworm", and "rabies" or something like that.

Our neighbors recently moved out and left their young male dog tied up in the back yard alone with no food or water. We have adopted the dog to save his life and to give him a decent home, and today brought him over to our back yard. We already have a male dog, and put the new dog on a long chain outside the fence where the other dog stays so they could get used to each other. They seem fine until I go out there, then they fight through the fence. The new dog doesn't want me having anything to do with the original dog. We plan to get the new dog neutered as soon as possible. Will that help? The idea is to eventually put them both together, but that won't work if they're fighting. The new dog has never had much quality of life, and so probably craves attention and doesn't want to share now that he's finally gotten someone to pay attention to him. We feel so sorry for him, but yet don't want to ignore our own dog. Any advice will be appreciated.

I think its a mixed breed but if anyone can tell me what it is or a near breed then that would be great. I have a pic but dont know how to upload it here (if i can). It is mostly white with sandy brown and black around the eyes and ears and furry. The tips of the ears are completely dark brown. Also let me know where i can upload this pic. thanks

I just got a AKC boxer pup who is a little over 8 weeks old, and can already tell that he is going to be a beautiful dog. I want to eventually enter him into some shows, the only thing is that his ears are not clipped. I know it's to late to clip them, and I wouldn't if it wasn't. I just need to know should I even bother entering him with this deviation from the norm show Boxer?

I just got a new kitten and she chews on her tail. She will sit and chew and lick it for hours. I'm worried she will chew the hair off the end of her tail. Is this normal or is something wrong?

If you saw a fleece blanket with a cute pattern would you consider buying it for your cat or dog, to either put inside their crate or kennel at home or to travel?
