My dog is 65 days pregnant and I noticed today some green goopy fluid coming out. Does this mean she's close to labor? I'm so excited! Their mini bulldogs btw!

1. Do you clean it in a bathtub, sink, outside or what?
2. How do I get ALL the shavings and thigs out?

I usually clean mine in the bathtub and I can't get all the bedding and stuff out so should I wear gloves and wipe it out?

My hamster cage has a habitrail nest thingy from the Crittertrail X and how do you clean that?

Looks like someone's getting a wake up call. Isn't it great that people are starting to get things out to the media?

I was just walking on 44th and 6th ave, and there is a man asking for money with 2 cats and 2 dogs! These animals look like they are in good shape, and 3 out of 4 of them had a sweater on, but they were still cold! There was even a dog without anything on! Is it legal for this man to be using these animals as bait?

I had some coins in my pocket from Canada, and I told him these are Canadian coins is that ok? and he said yes.. a few minutes later, i walked by again, and I saw him picking coins out of the bucket and throwing them in the street! I was so angry. I walked by and said "did someone throw fake coins in or something?" and he goes "no someone threw in foreign coins!". i said it was me, and i thought he said it was ok..so he said "oh thanks anyway i appreciate it". i asked him what the money was for and he sort of mumbled something I didn't completely hear.

Anyway, I got a very bad impression from this man and think this is disgusting.

I have had two cats living on my front porch for about a month... they just appeared one day when I got home and they have stayed ever since. Because winter is coming, we are thinking about taking them inside. Please give me some suggestions!

I need your thoughts on my situation with my dog. Simon is a 4 year old coon hound/ pomeranian mix. To me he is the cutest thing in the world, he is my little buddy, and my best friend. This past spring he started having seizures, we have had him on phenobarbital, and potasium bormine. The bromine didn't to anything, so we took him off of it. We have increased his phenobarbital intake several times. We are now up to double the amount that we started at. (3 .5 pills x2 daily) For a 50 lb dog that is a lot. The thing is, is that he it hasn't helped. About one day a month he has multiple seizures, I don't know if I should call them cluster seizures, but they will happen for at least one day (right now he is on his second day of seizures) I am hoping they will end soon. The seizures last about a minute. They have been getting worse, yesterday he had three in 30 minutes. It is so hard to watch him go threw this. He is a sweet dog, but is not adoptiable, he has some major behavior problems.

I'd like to try a Booda Dome litter box. My husband wants one of the automatic litter boxes, but I heard they're not good for multiple cats and the rake can get a little messy. What do you think?

I adopted a beautiful cat a couple of weeks ago but he drives me nuts sometimes! I love him dearly but he is the most sloppiest litter box user I've had out of all my cats! He'll step in the spot he just went pee, then his back paws smell like urine (and we all know how strong cat pee smells!) and the litter also sticks to his paws. I've even had to cut his hair on his butt too because his poop would stick to it. Ugh! I was thinking his litter box might be too small and thats why he steps in it? Or maybe he just isn't too bright?! He's the sweetest cat though and just loves to get and give affection. I just want him to use the litter box without making such a huge mess! Oh and I've also had to wash his butt twice! Any suggestions?!?!?! Thanks :o)

I'm a little disappointed in the lack of response from yesterday's log, so I'll keep it open for a bit longer.

Today I want to hear about the most serious issue you've had with your dog. By this, I mean something physical. Something that required extensive vet trips, etc.

Was it an injury or a disease? Something that required surgery or serious medication?

How did you deal with it? If you don't mind sharing this, what did it cost you in the long run? How did you deal with that, financially. More importantly, how did you deal with it emotionally.
How did your dog deal with it?

Do you have any advice for the rest of us on how to avoid these issues? Especially if it was an injury. Any advice on how to prepare yourself for something like this if it were to, god forbid, ever happen?

May seem kind of morbid, but I think it's an important topic to discuss.

I have a 3 year old 3lb. teacup female yorkie named Bunny. The horrible people I bought her from stepped on her when she was first born, leaving her with a broken back leg, right in the knee joint. She can't bend it, but she does use it. So, even though she is just gorgeous, and I have the perfect stud match, I am afraid to breed her. The vet says I should have her fixed and that I should not let her gain any weight because of her bad leg. I was always under the impression that when you fix a dog, they gain weight? And her being a small dog, what will her personality be after she is spayed? My husband and I are both young and active, will this keep her active and fun? I don't want it to make her mean and not want to play anymore. (Playing fetch is all that she wants to do!) What should I do? Will she still have the same personality afterwards? I love her so much, I don't want her to change!
