puppies have high energy levels and you are just going to have to deal with it until she grows out of it. as the saying goes a "tired puppy is a good puppy" take her on long walks before these times or take her to the dog park for a while.

Exercise, exercise, exercise! If she's keeping you up at night, she's probably not getting enough exercise during the day. She's still really young, so I would think playing with her for awhile would wear her out. Play fetch, run around with her, etc and she's bound to calm down a little. Puppies tend to sleep a lot if they get enough exercise. As far as the chewing is concerned, every time she tries to chew you or anyone else, get a toy and put it in her mouth so she starts to realize what is and isn't acceptable to chew.

Dobe and labs are both very high energy dogs, and she will need a whole lot of exercise, whether it's walking with you, playing fetch, or anything else you can think of.
Check with your local shelter or kennel club or community college for a basic obedience class or puppy kindergarten (if she's under 6 months old). This will also help with a lot of the problems, as well as getting her out.

Maybe you should have thought about this before you got a puppy. ALL puppies are hyper, and dobies and labs are known to be extra energetic and hyper. I have a 2 year old dobie. He could run ALL DAY LONG and not be tired.

Do NOT drug your dog! Find a Puppy Obedience class and take her to it. Pay someone to come and play with her, if you can't play long enough to tire her out. You got a VERY high energy dog and you'll have to deal with it. Crate training might help too, but it might be too late, she might be too old to ever get used to being locked in a crate.
I hope you can make this work, because it's AWFUL to give up on a dog. Next time, please do some research before you get ANY pet, to see if they will fit into your lifestyle.
Good luck.

I'm not sure what you expect from a puppy. That's what puppies do, run around and bark. You should have thought of this before you took her on

If she doesn't like water, use a spray bottle to spray her each time she barks. She may need extra play time to wear her out since she's just a puppy. Also, it's okay to be firm with her. A loud low "NO" when she barks/jumps whatever is usually helpful. Also, if she does something you don't like during playtime, stop playing so she learns her actions mean she gets punished.

dobes are notorious HIGH Energy, high drive, high affection and social dogs. They need mental exercise as well. So I'd say enroll in an obedience class and if the current exercise regime is not sufficient , she needs MORE . My Dobe is 5 years old and has not slowed down a bit ! I don't mind, it reminds me that he is happy and healthy and it helps keep ME physically fit as well. No meds will work, just patience, consistency and training.

Hey, That's the way puppies (you choose the breed) are.
Sounds like you should re-home your dog.
And really watch your own birth control. Seriously, if you can't handle bouncy puppy - what are you going to do if you have children!?
