My dog is 65 days pregnant and I noticed today some green goopy fluid coming out. Does this mean she's close to labor? I'm so excited! Their mini bulldogs btw!

Since gestation for canine is usually 65 - 67 days, I guess you should be having puppies soon. I hope that you call your vet now to let them know what is going on. Keeping them appraised of how labor is going. Mini bulldog? I am not familar with that breed. But if it has a big head (like boston terriers, eng bulldogs ect) be aware that there can be problems in normal birthing because of the large head.....can get stuck in the birth canal. If she actively labors for 2 hours and does not produce a puppy you might want to call the vet. Calling them can save you and your mom to be lots of pain and heartache.

Good Luck

I'm not sure abou the green gloopy stuff, but call your vet and tell him what's going on. He'll tell you how close she is, and what to do when it happens. I've heard that Bulldogs have to have C-Sections, because their body makes it difficult to pups out .. Once again, call your vet.

For all of the answerers who are curious about Miniature English Bulldogs, they do exist. It's the standard breed, just a lot smaller in size .. It's not a "normal" breed .. Just .. basically all of the runts in the English Bulldog Breed.

First let me say, congrats! I would love to see some pics when the little pups are born. Over ninety-eight percent of all dogs deliver their puppies without assistance or complications. So, hopefully, everything will go fine. Make sure you call your vet, and keep them updated. Just in case something does come up. Most vets have an emergency number for after hours.

It sounds like your dog is in the second stage of labor. As this stage progresses the placental water sacks break and a straw-colored fluid is passed. During this period keep the mother’s environment quiet and calm.

Feel free to e-mail me with your results. Good luck! ( ;

I don't know much about "mini" bulldogs, however, I'd be little bit more concerned. It's friday, and the vet may be closed when the situation is critical.
Thought these guys were always born via C section!!!

She should deliver today. When she puts her front legs out and starts pressing down on them get her to the whelping bed. Good luck. It's is a wonderful experience. E-mail me if you have questions!
