That is nasty. It points to a problem or problems with your puppy. Please take him to the vet so this can be taken care of.

There is nothing to be seriously worried about. My dog, and I know many others that when they trow up they eat it. (gross, I know.) But best adivce i can give is to house train your dog. If you see it pee on the floor, give a not-so-pleasant sounding "NO" and immediately take it outside or where ever you wish it to do it's business. (This will keep the dog from licking it up, and also begin the house training process) While outside tell the dog "Go potty" or something of the sort in a good voice. the tone is reinforcing to its learning. Maybe even give it a treat after it relieves itself. Keep up with it and in no time, the dog will be trained well! :)
My dog only had 4 accidents when she was a puppy. worked like a charm!

well, if he does have water then its not about him being too thirsty. my dog used to pee in the house too.. and there can be many reasons why they would drink it depending on if they know they are doing something wrong. if he doesn't know he is doing something wrong, He Should! you have to teach them these things or you will have the nastiest house ever in no time. mine would only pee in the house when she was too full to hold it anymore.. because it was always A LOT. but she would try to hide it many times, or just hide under the bed or something :) i don't know how old your little one is. but if you are punishing him for the in house bathroom breaks and taking him outside often. you shouldn't have the problem much longer. if he pees in the grass he cant drink it back up. :) oh yeah. and dogs just do this kind of stuff.. some eat poo too! i know its nasty, but there are even worse things they do. no matter how pampered they are, the dog comes out at some point.
so don't worry too much, keep your head up, and work on the walking and get onto him for his boo boos and you will have a perfectly potty trained pooch in no time :) good luck

keep a squirt bottle at had when you are training. When they do wrong spray them in the face.
You should also be taking a puppy out every hour or 1.5. Take him out so often so that peeing on the carpet is not an option. Always keep the dog on a leash with you in the house and be consistent. potty training like this is fast and will be over soon.
Don't leave food or water out yet. Make sure they get enough but monitor and control their intake. Also take them out after drinking and eating.

you need to supervise him more closely
first of all why is he peeing on the floor he should be outside every 15 mins after he drinks , right after he wakes up
also do you have enough water in his bowl?
if the puppy is being house trained try to stop him from drinking his urine
good luck

So to give you a real answer, as opposed to people that say it's gross....
It's a very common thing. More people are aware of dogs eating thier own feces but dogs are known to consume both types of excrements. It's still unknown completely why dogs do this but it's not a bad thing.
If it does really bother you, as soon as you see him pee, distract him and clean it up.
Good luck

My puppy had/has the same issue. My vet said it could be that he is imitating his mother when she would clean up after the pups, he found no evidence of anything wrong or deficiency. Now that he is older it has diminished tremendously

Dogs do some strange things. Just make sure that hes not lacking in any nutrients and that he has plenty of fresh water available. And by the way you might not want to let him kiss you on the mouth.

I have never heard of a puppy doing this, but the only thing I can think of is he/she is thirsty?
I would check with a vet because I wouldn't think this would be good for any animal if they continue doing it

Dont worry my dog used to do that too.
Perfectly normal.
As long as he has water etc.
But yea it's the same as their poop. they'll eat it.
It's kinda gross but try to keep an eye on him, discurage him from licking it. He'll eventually learn, but my dog sometimes licks other dogs pee from trees etc. so it's just their nature

The best way to break a dog from bad behavior is to shake a old coffee can with coins in it next to his ear.
