Take him to a trainer. But be careful what you wish for.

Border collies were breed to herd sheep, not as a guard dog, other breeds are used for this such as dobermans and GSD's.
Would it not be better to be grateful that you have a pleasant, non aggressive dog and invest in some better security, at least this can be switched off when not needed, if you train a dog to be aggressive and do not know what you are doing, it can be lethal, not to mention you being liable to be prosecuted under the dangerous dogs act. If this dog was bought as a pet, why would you want to suddendly change his good nature or get rid of him now.
If have a rescue border collie who does have aggressive tendenises due to not being socilaised as a young dog. I have trained him over the years to be more sociable and he has improved 100% but I wish with all my heart that he was a 'softie' as your dog is.
I think an aggrressive dog in your hands would be a very dangerous thing!!

Either this is a pure wind up or .................. You are a bleeding idiot! You should never be allowed near a dog and I can well understand why you are the sort of person who gets 'picked on'. You can't be bovvered to get a CCTV but lets just toss this dog back and get a different model! You make me sick!
I worry that some idiot will break in! My dog would do exactly what you want a dog to do and that's without any training at all! It's training her not too that is difficult! The trouble is she'd either kill them or I'd end up being sued and losing my precious dog!
I could tell you exactly how to train your dog to do what you want but I'm not going to! I value your dog even if you don't!

Sounds like Pepper needs a different home. The situation you described is not conducive to a HERDING dog. I know ~ I have five aussies. Also, you need to do your research on breeds and invest some time in proper training and socialization techniques (for your dog, as MUCH as you!).

Leave the outside lights on at night. Get inexpensive battery operated door & window alarms. Don't expect the dog to do the MAN's job (protect the home!)

Is this a complete joke, or only partial?

Take the dog back for its own sake, and don't get another. You haven't got a clue.

How come you type the way you talk anyway? You're not from the Medway towns in Kent by any chance are you?

Border Collies aren't known for their protection ability. They can be good 'watch dogs' in that you can teach them to bark but make horrible 'guard dogs'. The very least you'll probably be able to get him to do is to bark a warning sign whenever someone comes into the house. This could be achieved by teaching him a 'speak' command and once he's got that down then teaching him to associate someone entering the house as the cue for 'speak'. Hoping anyone who hears a dog bark would want to pick a different house.

That way you're not teaching him to be mean or aggressive, just giving him a trick to perform.

You should worry more about educating yourself! I've seen some bad spelling but yours takes the cake, A border Collie is not bread to be agressive, they are loving family pets. If you wanted a guard dog you should have gotten a German shepherd or Rottweiler or something along that line. If you have problems with people doing things to your house you need to call the police and file a report. Not try to make your dog something he is not. If he barks when people come to the door, that's all he is supposed to do. Sounds like you need to get with the program and take care of the people who are doing these bad things. that's what the law is for.

try an alarm system, this is why we end up with so many dogs back in the pounds, you cant make an apple into a pear OK, be thankful you have a lovely dog and deal with the human problem yourself, that's what it is, its a problem for a human to sort out, don't rely on your dog to do your dirty work for you.

A border collie is never going to give the effect you want. If you try to make a dog of this breed aggressive you may well only succeed in making him neurotic and snappy! And if you are finding the kids a nuisance, wait til you try living with a neurotic collie! How about security lighting rather than CCTV and a mega visible alarm box? Or try putting up a sign with a picture of a muscled up Dobbie or Alsation which reads, "Trained and silent attack dog on patrol".

How is a dog, aggressive or otherwise, going to stop these people throwing stones or robbing your home?

I know of some dogs being poisoned before a house is robbed - dogs, unless specially trained, will take food in most circumstances. I guess a lot depends how badly these people want to rob you.

I think you either need to buy a new CCTV or move.....

Maybe Pepper thinks you are too soft. You've got kids stoning and robbing your house and you just take it? The humans need to take charge. You can't rely on the dog to empower you and compensate for your shortcomings.
