Never! if you let them on the furniture/sofa your dog will soon begin to think he can do and go wherever he wants in the house. Plus that is over spoiling a dog, it's just a dog and it does not derserve to live like a human being because it is an animal.

I used to when I only owned 1 dog, but now that I have 4 Siberian Huskies I don't. There wouldn't be enough room for everyone unless I bought a sectional! But I did buy a pet friendly sofa material that makes for easy pet hair clean up. It's called Durapella and feels like suede, easy to clean up the hair with a wipe from a damp cloth and the hair is gone (until the dogs start running around again)

The sofa, the bed, the day bed. All 4 dogs have the run of the house.

I will let my dog on the sofa, so long if she doesn't have a bone. Dog's normally roam all over the house, so the hair and other things get on the furniture anyways.

We do not allow our dog onto the sofa or onto our bed. She has her own bed in the living room and another one upstairs in our bedroom. We would never sit or sleep on her "furniture" so in turn, we do not allow her on ours! Dogs can get confused into thinking they are the pack leader if they are allowed onto furniture and this can lead to further problems. We love our dog and she is a valued member of our family but she knows her place in the pecking order.

On the sofa, on the beds, in the beds, anywhere and everywhere all the time.!!! Our choice, and we are happy with it, there is a bit more housework, but it is more than outweighed by having happy loving dogs 24/7.

Question is, do my dogs allow me on the sofa. Right now I'm surrounded by 4. There's hardly any room for me. LOL!

Yes, both of them any time they want. In fact, I like having them sit with me on the sofa while I watch TV. Two of the sofas are leather, easy to clean, the fabric one is covered, easy to wash the cover.

my dog is my baby she sleeps on the sofa and my bed where she pinches all the covers,ok so maybe i shouldnt let her but so far i have had no ill effects and we have had her now about 6 years. She was a rescue dog and was badly treated so we just are making up for the bad times by spoiling her we do treat her like a baby.and if that is wrong then so be it .

My three dogs can get on most of the furniture and on the bed. They have beds as well. I keep them well groomed and use those adhesive rolls that hair sticks to so clothes and furniture stay hair free- mostly. So the answer is YES, off and on- daily. There are times when people come over and they are not allowed on the furniture. They are well trained so if they are told to get down or to kennel up they do it.
