the receptionist at the clinic said that if i wait to bring her in until Friday (when i get paid) that she might have to start over with the shots--meaning i basically wasted money on the first round--but the vet will have to determine whether to do the booster or a new set... (based on her size, age, etc) so i'll have to bring her in to get looked at (and pay an extra office visit fee rather than just get her the shots & pay for those)

is this true? on Friday it will have been 5 weeks since the first shots. she's just over a year old, and small.

anyone have any clue if i'll have to start her shots over or not??
this is a new vet (moved recently), so i don't know if they're as reliable as my previous vet.

thanks!

Weird question, I know, but for me it took a long time before I finally found something that seriously minimized the gas output.

Basically, it took about 11 years of stinky doginess before I found something. I did all the research and I know what's recommended.

Yogurt didn't make a difference. I tried a number of things through the years. I can think of four brands of food (three of which are high-quality and generally highly recommended here) that didn't help or increased his gas. I finally found one brand that made a significant difference.

I'm just curious about other people's experience with stinky, gassy dogs and what, if anything, ultimately helped.

I have 2 platys and one is pregnant. how am i supposed to divid the tank . its only a 5 gallon. if i get a divider should I put the mother on the side without the filter so the babies wont get sucked up. and then after there born should I take the mother out of that side and put it on the other side with the 3 other fish. And what do I feed the babies? and what do i use to divide the tank? please help me. or should i just get a small seperate tank at petco to put the babies in. please answer a couple at least if you know them. thank u so much.

My female pup (lab/chow mix) lives with me in my apt. and lovesss to play with other dogs. Other dogs around the apt. are very small and timid so playing with them is out of the question. This past weekend i took my pup home and she played with my aunts' 60 lbs. aussie-she had a blast and she was pretty rough with her. I am just afraid that another dog might not be so nice with her at the park cause she is only like 15 lbs.- she has gotten her second round of shots and has been dewormed, so how safe is it to take her to a dog park? what age is best appropriate?

Shifting gears for a few days so please stay with me - I'm going to have a pattern over the next couple of days....

Why do you come to the Dog section? What is it that you get out of being here? Please, for those of you who are long time users, what is it that brings you back? For those of you who are new, what brings you here?

I'm not asking about what's right or wrong... just why do you come here?

Thanks a bunch....

I have four cats. Their ages are 7, 6, 4 and 3. None of my cats have problems but one. The 7 year old has always been fat but eats the least of any of them. She has always had dandruff and runny, glossy eyes. Within the last 6 months or so, she had developed ONE scab on her side. I thought it might have been from where one of my other cats may have accidently hurt her when they were playing. But now I don't think that at all. The scab was red and looked like the hair either grew into it or across it. Last week the scab fell off and there was a pink area left an no hair about the size of a dime. I've been watching it and it seems like the scab is growing back on top of the same area. I can CONFIRM that my cats don't have fleas. They have never been out side their whole lives and I don't have any animals that do! She doesn't scratch at it ir any other part of her body. I don't know if its because she is too big to reach it. But she recenty started to make a chatter noise and go crazy if I scratch any near the scab like it feels good and relieves the itch. Can any one give me some kind of advise as to what this is? I'm thinking it is an alergy but I'm not sure to what. I have always fed the IAMS weight and hairball control. I have always put Arm & Hammor litter down. Nothing in their lives has changed that I'm aware of. Thank you in advance for any help!!! I have search and read a lot online about people wasting so much money jumping the gun and just running to the vet when they have been able to solve their proplem with others answering them. If this doesn't work, I will take her though! Thanks again!!!

I have a 10 month old puppy i have had him since the day he was born. He lives with his mom and dad. I came home the other day and the puppy and his dad had got into a really bad fight, it was a big mess, and sad to see. I think that it is going to keep happening so i have to get rid of him. Will he get over us? Will he be okay after living with us and his family for so long? I know I'm not going to be okay, I just want to make sure he can adapt.

I hear people talk about it and it sounds like it's something to make cats comfortable but from what I've heard before I thought it was a repellent of some kind to keep them off surfaces you don't want them on, like kitchen counter-tops. I looked at a site online and it wasn't really descriptive on what it is supposed to do exactly and how it works.

My friend told me that cats are dangerous. I was like "really, why?". She said she saw on tv that a cat was abandoed at pet store by a owner and it got angry, attacked a lady from high-level shelf and had to get lot of stitches. I was wondering because I'm thinking about getting cats in future. Are they that dangerous?

What a waste of effort and although I don't condone just leaving your dog's mess, at least the rain can wash it away.
I have a dog and we always carry a bag, then put any mess in the bin. Why can't other dog owners do the same? Thank goodness I got that off my chest...

Why ask fish questions? when you are ignorate and frankly dont care about the correct answers, but rather than getting the answer u want.

I find it funny how a person who can basically STEAL info and paste links can get best answers.

I think alot of us TC dont get enough credit and frankly if you want BSanswers then continue what your doing. But Then stop come crying to us when your fishes are dieing.

If your wondering what got me so PO is this one i answered.

We have 2 mini Dachshunds and a Pomeranian. We recently got the girl and she's now in "heat". We've confined her as much as we can, but our other 2 are going off the wall. They've been extremely possesive and are fighting a lot. I bought some dog tablets that are supposed to keep them calm but nothing seems to help. I'm losing sleep over this. If anyone has any advice please let me know!

We got a puppy last Sunday from a well known pet chain and when I took her to the vet 2 days ago, she was diagnosed with Giardia, hookworm and conjunctivitis. None of these ailments could have possibly been contracted while in our care... we do not have any other dogs, and our cat is healthy (she went to the vet on the same day). She has to take 2 medications and revisit the vet next weekend which will end up costing me well over $100.00. Why should I have to pay for this? She wasn't cheap, so shouldn't the pet store be selling heathy animals? We are attached to her so I do not want to give her back to the pet store, but I believe they should reimburse me for her vet bills... what do you guys think?

He won't stop barking or howling and I am worried that I will be kicked out of my apartment complex. He has toys, and a bed in there and it is plenty big enough for him. Is there anyway to get him to stop the barking/howling while I am gone? Will a bark collar work? Any other advice?
