In my yard, a neighbor's handsome large tabby patiently, diligently courted our Fe. tabby for 6 months. He wooed her by letting her eat his tuna (which we put out for him), fought off all her suitors, just stared intently at her from 2 feet away, and so much more. She completely avoided/rejected him all that time . He finally won her over. They were inseparable for 10 days. Then, all of a sudden, he ignores her, walks past her (a bit to her dismay) even sneaks into our home 2,3X a day, eats her food, rejects her meow-advances (we catch him eating, and he scurries off). My beau and I think he just wanted sex and food. He looks like a playboy too!!

My 5 month old german shep puppy loves LOVES rawhide...she gnaws on them til they get all gooey and I know she must eat bits of it but she does so pretty slowly.. I have non- edible nylabones and the Kong, but I need ideas on what will really keep her attention- only the giant rawhides will keep her busy for awhile (I'm in law school, so I need chunks of uninterupted time)...please be as specific as possible (there are so many different types of stuff I get overwhelmed)

Before the cold weather starts (Summer), or before the warm weather starts (Spring), or when?
I suppose that getting a puppy in the Winter would not be good, as the puppy would be too cold when he/she has to go outside!

I have an 11 month old black lab who has never whined but last night she started whining and all throughout the evening now. I notice she isn't eating like she usually does or hanging on me and wants to be left alone. Now I am hearing some grumbling when she breathes. Any ideas of what this could mean? She has been on heart worm monthly pills since she had her test done at 9 weeks. Thanks you-

my sister got a yorkie and she bites so much. its not like shes mad, its just like you kiss her, and she bites you lips, sometimes she will lick, or you pet her, and she bites your hands, she always bites feet and hands. she chases my poodle at my dads house and scares her, but its like she wants to play with her, then she bites her tail. she bites my cats tail also. we yell at her, and hit her butt, we do not hurt her, but nothing seems to work. she bites our ears, nose, anything she can get. she doesn't try to tear up papers or anything, just our body parts. she has a ton of toys and bones to chew on, she just doesn't listen. we praise her and tell her shes good when she listens to us, but that doesnt happen often. what can we do to make her stop biting?

What is the best way to clean stuck on urinates from the palstic material of vision cages without spending an hour on my hands and knees?
I use newspaper as bedding, but some times my boas don't feel like going on the paper. Any kind of solution I could use? Household cleaner that dissolves it (with me making sure the cleaner absolutely gone afterwards of course)?

My dog is known for not really getting along w/ other dogs. On walks she goes crazy lunging and such. We've been talking to our groomer about it but whenever she's at the groomers she's fine. there are tons of dogs there. When we picked her up from there today she said that Nani(my maltese) was out in the back playing w/ 2 havaneese and having a blast! Why is she so diffenent at the groomer's than she is with us.
Is it something were doing wrong? What can I do to help fix this problem? I'm looking into obedience classes.

IVE HAD BETTA FISH BEFORE BUT THEY DIED DUE TO THE WHOLE PLANT ON TOP OF THE VASE SETUP THAT MY MOM CREATED...SHE THOUGHT IT WOULD LOOK CUTE...ANYWAYS.......I RECENTLY MOVED MY FISH FROM A .5 GAL TANK TO A 2.5 GAL TANK....HE WAS DOING FINE AND EVERYTHING....BUT NOW HE WONT EAT....AND HE SITS AT EITHER THE TOP OF THE TANK OR AT THE BOTTOM AND DOES NOT MOVE....AND WHEN I SAY DOES NOT MOVE I OFTEN PASS BY HIM AND THINK THAT HE IS DEAD....I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON HIM OR ANYTHING TO DETERMINE DISEASE. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE A FILTER OF SOME SORT AND SOME KIND OF HEATING BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GET ONE AT THAT WILL FIT A 2.5 GAL TANK. I CANT GET A BIGGER TANK DUE TO SPACE ISSUES....I ALSO HOUSE 2 HAMSTERS IN MY BEDROOM IN SEPARATE CAGES AND LIVE IN AN APARTMENT. ANY ADVICE ON SAVING STIR-FRY (THATS HIS NAME...BOYFRIEND NAMED HIM...LOL) WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

I have tried changing her food (dry), and the only thing that seems to help is the steroid shot, but they say that can cause cancer. Anybody have any Ideas? She is like 2 years old, and is a little different like she has the sweetest temperament, and is a little clumsy.

Hi I set up a nano reef aquarium in a 24g Nano Cube Dx 72W VHO Lighting (Compact Flourescent) As of now I have 2 tomato clowns and a small yellowtail damsel in there, along with some snails and some crabs, as well as a feather duster. the only coral i have right now are a couple mushrooms. When should I set the light timer to turn on and off at? Currently I have it turning on at 7 AM and off at 8 PM. what is the best schedule to run on?

Mama just had a litter three weeks ago, little Tiger was the first to arrive. Tiger seemed to be the runt of the group and had trouble with one eye. I helped her eye along with washing it with warm water to unstick it. I finnaly got all the gunk out and I thought she was going to survive. Last night I got home and she seemed to be fine, very playful and then an hour later, she began to have trouble walking and staying up. SHe seemed very weak, I knew something was wrong. I took her to the emergency vet right away and they said she needed a blood transfusion. Well, as I mentioned before, she died and I am very sad. However, now I am concerned that Momma keeps looking for Tiger and is now hissing at her other babies. She has been a good mother, other babies seem fine and Vet gave me flea meds, but my concern now is that Momma seems to be rejecting them now. What do I do?

My guppy just had her fry today. The only fish in the tank with them is their mom and she has been trying to catch them but they swim away and hid in the plants or wedge themselves between the rocks on the bottom. I think they are safe from her but I would like to know when they will be big enough to not be eaten. Also is breaking up flake food really really small enough for them to eat?

my loves to eat plastic almost more than cat food. he'll eat candy wrappers, tape, and plastic bag parts. we try to pick up all the plastic but he just goes into the garbage and pulls it out. why does he do this? will it hurt him in the future? how do i make him stop?

I have talked to 3 different vets, one said it was her food. So we switched and tried several different kinds, that didnt work. The 2nd said it was a blockage, which is not the case because she eats fine and goes to the bathroom fine. The 3rd said it was a sinus infection in which she took meds for and still does it. SHe will throw up in bed at night and alot of the time when she jumps up from laying down. Its just a tiny bit and she usually catches it before it comes out but sometimes its alot. I have made an appt. with another vet but I would just like some opinions. Im not asking for rude answers about how I dont know how to take care of my pet, because I do. Has this happened to anyone else?

I got both of my animals from the SPCA and they were automatically chipped upon adopting them. I'm now hearing that the chips can cause cancer and I want them removed from my animals immediately. Is this a possiblity?

I have a cat she is almost a year old. Recently she started peeing on our laundry basket- with clean clothes in it! Now she is peeing on the floor and our house smells like cat pee, ewww! Why is she doing this, and how can I get her to stop?

I hate dogs... I think they are dirty, a waste of resources, and dangerous. But of course whenever I say I hate dogs the dog lovers tell me that I'm an evil sociopath or something to that effect... And many owners get mad when I tell them to leash their dogs... I can't freakin walk in the damn park without stepping in dog crap or having someone's dog come sniffing me up... and when I complain, everyone tells me how great dogs are and how bad I am for not liking them... I don't like being sniffed up by a dog, and I don't care how "sweet" you're freakin dog is...

Why would you need a dog in the city ? Companionship? Why not get a parrot or a hamster or something? Not something to annoy people with Or a house cat even...

There was some debate about the legitimacy of the Silken Windhound and the Miniature Australian Shepherd. The Alaskan Klee Kai was named as a fake breed but it's recognized by UKC. The Mi-Ki is a mix of several small breeds but is recognized by ARBA.

The Cesky Terrier and Black Russian Terrier are both fairly new breeds, created from other breeds, but that are widely accepted.

Would a dog need to have a working heritage with a real purpose for creating it for you to accept it?

Would the breeders need to make a serious commitment to type and quality?

Would it need to be recognized by AKC, KC, CKC (Canadian) or FCI? What about UKC, ARBA, or an FCI-member country?

I was told by my Vet that it's beneficial to the dog to be bred at least 1 time so that she does not develop problems later. Another dog i had was never bred and ended up with some kind of breast swelling that required costly surgery

What is your favorite breed of cat? I am interested to know what kinds of cats people outside of my town and family like and/or have.

My two favorite breeds of cats are:
American calico bob-tail long hair



(^ lol i know it is a long breed but i have it, AND I LOVE HER
TO DEATH!, she is long hair because i am allergic to cats but long haired cats dont have dander)

and second

Egyptian Mau's
I think they are one of the coolest animals and have a very cool backround. They are also very cool because of the various colors they come in and the patterns they have in their fur.
