Depending on your region's climate, I'd go for spring. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada, and I know that even my adult dogs have difficulty going to the restroom outside in the middle of a blizzard. Housetraining has always been less bothersome in spring or summer for me.

I think both spring and fall are good times to get a pup. I've gotten mine during these seasons. The weather is mild, and potty training isn't as miserable, standing in the cold or heat. You've got a good month to teach them why they're out so when the harsh weather has arrived they'll do their business, hopefully on cue. Most puppies love snow, (once they know what it is) unless it's the itty-bitty or short-haired breeds that seem to have a hard time controlling their body temperatures.
The challenges of these seasons are:
Spring is the amount of rain, digging in puddles.
Fall falling leaves seem to be more important than going to the bathroom.
Hope you look for a pup from the shelter, there are many, many great pups there that NEED a home.

I am not sure where you live, but try to determine this by previous years. The *ideal* time for you to get a pup would be when you have comfortable weather for a good couple months. When I was little, I rescued a puppy from a dumpster and it just happened to be winter and there was snow. It was quite cold taking her little patooty out there in the middle of the night! Good luck to you and good question!

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8Q1
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

i would say whenever it starts getting warmer out.. that way you can probably train the puppy to go outside, and you won't be held back by the cold..i got my puppy last oct, right before winter..it was fine, but hard on his little paws, getting used to the cold snow..i live in Michigan..so i would say wait till spring, start looking now at what breed you might like, or maybe checking shelters...good luck

In my opinion late spring, summer or fall because of having to train them to go outside. To me, winter is too cold (depending on where you live) and gets nasty with snow/ice/sleet for the puppies paws. Just my thought.

You could get a puppy/dog anytime a year they have fur coats, but if it is snowing get a pet jacket/coat and booties.
I would suggest the springtime because the snow is gone (i guess, i don't get snow where i am) and because its pleasant temperature wise.
I am a volunteer at an SPCA so i still know about the wether and whats best for dogs but the only bad wether for dogs/puppies is if it is flooding or if there is a blizzard.
Get your dog at a recognized breeder or at your local animal shelter.

Uhm, the best time would be when you're going to have a lot of free time for the puppy
