I have an 11 month old black lab who has never whined but last night she started whining and all throughout the evening now. I notice she isn't eating like she usually does or hanging on me and wants to be left alone. Now I am hearing some grumbling when she breathes. Any ideas of what this could mean? She has been on heart worm monthly pills since she had her test done at 9 weeks. Thanks you-

get her to the vets dear-she needs to be looked at very thoroughly, xrays maybe... it sounds as if she has a blockage somewhere.
DONT listen to the one who said to ignore her-she isnt eating and now all of a sudden crying...thats more than just wanting attention hon! she needs to be seen and examined. she may have ingested something w/out your aknowledgement or it could be a reaction to the heartgard-you dont know there for she needs to see a doctor. if it ends up being nothing at all atleast you know that you did what you could. but if you dont-and it is something that could have been prevented, you will hate yourself and you know it.
be a good parent and take your kid to the doctor! (i do hope it is nothing tho for both your sakes)

I'd say your dog is very sick and needs to see the Vet as soon as possible--no kidding. Dogs want to be alone when very sick or dying.

Is she fixed? Could be a sign of first heat... irratability etc... just like PMS for us. Go to a vet to be certain.

I would suggest to take her to the vet hun. She may have something lodged in her airway, or something stuck somewhere, they would be the ones to be able to tell you that she is ok....

hummm. I can't tell you what it is, but it doesn't sound good at all.
Especially if she has stopped eating.
Take her to the vet.
