I had a fish for over a year, that died this past week. He was a blue male guppy. I am getting a new fish to go in my aquarium this coming week, and was wondering is there anything, besides fish, that can go in there? It's a 5 gallon filtered aquarium with freshwater. I love having fish, and was wondering if there was anything else that could go in there?

Any training suggestions?
How much, on average, is it for shots, and everything the vet needs to do?
Can he go outside right away?
He's eight weeks old.

BUT we are watching my friend's nine year old puppy next week...should we just go to their house every hour or so, or would it be alright to introduce him to Ben (our puppy), when he just came to live with us?

So, I wonder: How do fish know their own kind? And even more so, their own colors? I have a tropical community 55 gallon designer aquarium and am more fascinated everyday. It is a new tank, and I started adding fish little by little over 8 weeks. My final result is: 2 sunburst Mollies, 2 red Mollies, 2 dalmation Mollies (one white with black spots, one black with white spots), 5 zebra Danios, 2 Ghostfish, 2 Gouramis (one powder blue and one sunset color), 2 neon tux Male Guppies, and 1 Plecco algea eater.

So here is what I came to notice. Every fish sticks with their own color! As you see, I have 6 Mollies, two of each color and they only stick with the coloring that they are. I find this fascinating.

Does anyone know why and how they do this?

has an1yone got any training aids/advice that they absolutley swear by? i need to 3 yr old ***** to stop pulling and my puppy to come when off the lead. she will follow my older dog everywhere so i get her back by calling my other dog.
she is also scared of everything while on a walk and some times when scared she will run to get away from whatever and will not listen to me.

I'm considering giving her some thinking to "drink". But I know she has liver problems, she actually takes special foods that have enzymes in them. Will alcohol kill those enzymes? I doubt it but I thought I ask the community for advice none-the-less.

my 6 month old puppy is constantly biting her feet! it drives me crazy because i can hear her chewing on her foot bones and i know it must hurt. she has no outwardly visible signs on her fur. any suggestions? if it keeps up i'll have to take her to the vet, but if there is a home remedy i'd like to try that first.

Ok so I have this friend who has a dog who is aggerssive when people try to touch her. By aggressive i mean she growls and sometimes runs away. She will take food from your hand but will not let you pet her. She will obey commands from people other than the family but she still wont let you touch her. Also she will sometimes lean aganist your leg but if you make a move to touch her she will growl and run away.

Is there a way to get her to let people pet her??

My dog is teething, losing her puppy teeth, and she eats whatever she gets a hold of shoes, table legs, and most recently vertical window blinds. I've had to replace the blinds 4 times I worried she is eating too much plastic. Her activity levels are normal no loss of appetite, but she is getting these black circles around her eyes and her natural white coat is turning yellow. Is this something I should worry about?

This news story has also been covered in various tabloids across the UK. This cat, called Oscar, apparently senses when a person at the dementia care home will die. He will then go and purr quietly and sit on their bed with them until they pass away. He has done this with a 100% success rate. Is this pure chance or does Oscar the Cat have some strange and mystical power that we are unaware of ?

Long story short, I just brought 4 little goldfish home from a carnival and I was about to go get an aquarium but I now have to go to the hospital. I don't want the little guys to die, but I'm reading that they need the tap water to either sit overnight or have something put in it, and I can't go get it for a few hours. I'm having trouble locating a betta breeder that's somewhat local to me. In a few months I'm planning to get a small collection of fancy bettas (not the sort you see in the pet store) for some small tanks I'm setting up.

I've checked aquabid, and I see a lot of very pretty bettas...in Thailand. If I can avoid dealing with a transhipper I'd like to, and I'd also prefer to get all my bettas (4-6) from the same source.

If you can provide any useful links it would be much appreciated. I'm in Central California and I am still willing to ship or drive if the fish are somewhat local. Thanks.
