I would recommend going to a shelter or pound and finding a puppy that needs a home. They are usually cheaper there also. I would probably recommend a Beagle or a Boston Terrier . My brother has a Beagle, and he is always fun and playful. On the other hand, my favorite dog would have to be the Boston Terrier because my aunt has one, named Fields, and he is hillarious. He is constantly making everyone laugh and is always a good time. In the end though, when you walk in and look at the dogs you will probably find one that you like and just have got to have. Good luck with the new puppy.

If you don't have a lot of money then i suggest you DON'T get a puppy or a dog .They are VERY expensive to have. If your dog was to become sick the vet bill can run into the $100's sometimes $1,000's. Your dog will also need shots and that will cost you $25 at least from a cheap shot clinic. Puppies need shots every 3 weeks until they are 6 months old then yearly after that. Feeding the puppy can cost anywhere from $35 up to $100 a month depending on the size of the dog .If you buy food that is on sale from the grocery store then you can expect to see the vet more often as foods that are cheap are not good for a dog and will cause medical problems like food allergy's like severe skin problems. Also you'll need to have your dog on Flea preventive stuff that will cost you $50 every 3 months during the summer. And if you get a long haired breed you will need to have it professionally groomed at least once a month that will cost you any where from $35 up to $65. Depending what breed you have. Sure you can get a dog for free practically but the care its going to need will cost you a lot of money. The price of having a dog over its entire lifetime of 10 to 15 years will can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000. The reason i know this is someone did a study on it.

you should get a dog that suits your life style and your living conditions.since you mentioned you don't have a lot of money try going to a shelter and adopting a puppy from there.if not just wait and save the money to get a good dog from a reputable breeder.don't listen to people on here you need to do research as you probably have an idea on what you like and want in dog do a research on those breeds.for example do you like small dogs?big dogs?medium dogs?do you live in an apt or a house?those are something to keep in mind also how much time are you willing to spend grooming and walking your dog.if not many you might want a dog that doesn't require a lot of grooming or a lot of exercise good luck.also as for the one that said working 7 hours a day and dog feeling lonely?PEOPLE HAVE TO WORK AND SOME WORK on an avarge 8 HOURS A DAY AND DOGS ARE FINE.as long as it is in a safe place like a play pen with toys it will be fine.also puppys do need food and such they are like kids.good luck.

There are PLENTY of puppies at shelters and pounds that need a good home and the only cost up to like $150 i think. It also depends on where you live cause i just moved from Georgia to Tennessee and the breeders change a lot. (in georgia a German Shepherd costs like $400-$2500 and up in Tennessee they cost like $100-$500)
also check your local newspaper, there ALWAYS giving away FREE dogs!
remember that you have to buy dog food a least once a month and bedding and a crate and all sorts of stuff so before you get a puppy, put aside a few hundred so you can take care of the puppy before your next paycheck!
Hope I helped!

With a low budget your best bet is to go to a shelter/pound and "rescue" one of those puppies. The adoption fees are usually not that high.
However, if you dont have a lot of money...you may also want to reconsider.....a puppy is like a child and sometimes it can become expensive (believe I have one.) Plus, having a puppy and working 7 hours a day may not be a good idea, the puppy would be lonely without its owner and may feel neglected. These are things to consider before getting a puppy. I hope you arent offended, this is just my opinion. Thanks

Check out your local animal shelters, they have cheaper dogs but are just as sweet as the next door neighbors! There are plenty of dogs that need homes! If you are looking for a specific breed, do your research on small, large, or medium sized dogs and figure out which one works out the best for you!! Hope this helps!

well if you dont have alot of money..then go to a shelter and get one. i also wouldnt suggest getting a little dog because they cant hold their bladders that long! and they bark alot. i would suggest a lab they are such good dogs yes they are big but all of the ones i know are cudly and sweet. they are also very smart so they can figure out how to hold their bladders during the day and they are very easy to teach tricks like sit, shake, bla bla the only thing about them is they like exercise and need it they are naturally fetch dogs so it is good to play fetch with them for two reasons, one for exercise and two for interactment. also labs are very protective of their owners/handlers. and for the first year or two they have to eat twice a day but other than that they only need to eat once a day so that could cut down on the cost of food. I know it doesnt seem like you want a big dog like a lab but they are very nice, caring, smart, and cudly dogs!!
Good luck*

If your not set on a specific breed of a dog, I would go to the shelter first. That way they will pay for the fixing and first shots. Then you will have extra money to spend on the toys and food and stuff for your puppy.

You should give people more information if you want a good answer.
Think through these:
Purebred or mixed breed?
Do you have a fenced yard?
How much exercise will the dog get?
Who will it be living with? Children? Infants? Birds? Hamsters?
How much time are you willing to spend grooming?
How much experience do you (or another family member) have with dogs?
How big of a dog do you want?
What do you want a dog for? Just a pet? Agility competition? Conformation shows?
Is anyone allergic to dogs?
