Rule of thumbs . . .Never call a dog and punish it when it comes. never yell your dogs name in anger or to stop bad behavior.
Get yourself a long leash, and some doggy treats, take your dog away privately away from other dog. Call it, "Fito, come" tug the leash and rapidly real it in. When it gets to you, it's just done the greatest thing in the world, praise, treat, praise . . . repeat until you can drop the leash. then eventually loose the leash. PRAISE TREAT PRAISE!!! CONSISTENCY IS KEY.

well what u should do is start in the back around so she can;t run get hot dogs dogs love them have a friend or some one help u. (put the older dog inside) have some one hold her under her front legs put the hot dogs around her nose feed her one (if she is not hungry it will not work) then fun like run back wards 3 feet or 4 calling her name all happy like ur friend should let go by then and u keep running back wards w/ ur hands cupped and hot dogs in hand (not all of them) and when se runs to u keep saying her name slow down and between ur legs give her the food when she is eating it say good her name look at u ur so smart make her wanna come 2 u make it fun use toys also and when ur walking pull the leash a little bit to get her to look at u call her name run back wards and giver her a treat always try to keep treats w/ u.

For the pulling on leash, Premier Gentle Leader & Easy Walk harnesses are great. There's a harness and a head harness variety.

For Coming, you need to practice that behaviour away from your other dog with one on one time. Turn your back to her when you call her and take a couple steps in the other direction. When she comes make sure she knows she's the best dog in the world. Treat and praise like crazy. NEVER call your dog to you for punishment.
Obedience classes would really help with her fear issues and socialization skills as well as over all attention to you as the master. They're a lot of fun too and a great bonding tool. When your dog fully trusts you as the master who will protect her, she won't be as afraid of new experiences on your walks.

I am sure there are lots of things to make you dogs listen and mind you, but I have found a treat and a good reward system w/lots of praise and hugs works really well. I give my dogs fritos. They like the salt. My friend gives her dog cheese. Whatever works.
As far as walking on the sidewalk try shortening the leash or carrying her a few times.

There is this deice called a clicker. How you use it is; every time your dog does your command correctly you click the clicker and give him/her a treat. It's pretty simple.I trained my 1 1/2 year old dobby/shepered with it, and know she listens to every thing I say. There is a great book to use with the clicker also. The book is called Clicking with your dog, and you can find it at any library.
The clicker can be found at ether petsmart or petco for a bout 1.50-5.00 depending on the one you want.

My dog was also giving problems obeying my commands, so I took her to training classes. They said its all about the bonding. Everyday I have to dedicate 15 minutes so playing with her and petting her. Then we practice the commands. Most training classes will tell you to put your dog on a 6 feet leash and have them sit walk as far out as the leash can stretch with a treat in your hand, call her name once, if he/she comes then reward him/her with praises and a treat, you will have to keep practicing this. It took me 2 weeks of constant practicing to finally get her to come on leash, and 2 extra weeks off leash. It good to practice off leash where there are no distractions and when they have successfully come then try with distractions..good luck with your dog.

Hi,
10 Important Tips to Travel with your Dog. It is in their nature to explore new places and meet new people. However, often traveling with your dog can be difficult. There is the problem of housing and transportation for the dog first and foremost, but even once you get past that issue others arise such as dealing with your dogs mess on the trip and more.
Many people feel that taking their dog with them is just too much of a hassle. This article is about convincing you otherwise, however if you just feel it would be easier to travel without your dog then into kennel or pet handler services while you are away. Hiring the services of a professional pet handler to care for your dog while you are away is often the best choice for your dog, but is also more costly then a kennel. Should you choose to go with a kennel then do some research first to find one that is clean and comfortable, and is run by people who truly care about the animals in the kennel. Some kennels will even allow you to bring extras like your dogs sleeping mat, a toy or two, and his or her own food. Whichever route you take, you will need to ensure your dog is current on all shots and immunizations as this is required for any kennel admission.
If you decide that you and your best friend will stay together and travel together, then here are 10 tips to make your journey safer and easier:
Purchase a good, solid dog carrier. Don’t even consider traveling without one. If you are flying, many airlines will offer to sell you one of theirs but they can be very costly. Visit your local pet store. When making your reservations check to see what the airlines policies are on pets. Some airlines require the dog to be in the luggage compartment, while others will allow you to keep the dog with you. Know this before you pay for your ticket.
Never ever leave your dog in a hot car, even if you roll the windows down. A car in the sun can reach temperatures of near 200 degrees causing heat stroke and even death to pets left in them.
Always use a leash and remain with your pet at all times. Dogs are very curious and in new places may try to run off and explore.
Never leave your dog unattended in his or her carrier. The theft or kidnapping of your dog is a very real possibility.
If renting a car for a logn road trip, or traveling by train, remember that your dog must have adequate cooling to stay healthy and safe. Look for cars and cabins with air conditioning.
Before leaving your house, be sure that your dog has clear and effective identification. Be sure that the identification provides a way to get a hold of you while you are still away from home.
Don’t forget to bring your dogs food, toys, and other essentials to keep them happy. Bring bottled water as well.
Acquire a certification from your vet that shows your dog is current on all immunizations.
Fix up a doggy first aid kit for the trip.
Ensure your dog has the chance to potty every few hours. When in unfamiliar places like this your dog’s regular potty schedule will be interrupted and you don’t want any embarrassing issues. If traveling to a theme park, check with employees about places setup for your dog to potty in. Most will have areas around the park for you to use.
And here 2 bonus tips for travelling abroad:
Contact the embassy ahead of time to find out what specific rules the country may have regarding pets.
Often times you will be required to provide various certifications from the embassy or consulate. Get this ahead of time just to be safe.
Now that you know how to have a safe and fun trip with your best friend, you can plan that next vacation without worry!

I agree about the clicker training. I took my dog to obedience classes where they used clickers and it was really good. All the dogs did really well, including my very headstrong doggy.

get a dog training clicker and give her a treat every time you click it. just use it for when you want her to come to you. she will associate the clicking with getting a treat.
