We just bought a Cocker Spaniel puppy on Thursday night. I had specifically asked the breeder if the dog had fleas BEFORE I decided to buy him and he, of course, said "no." When we got the puppy, I noticed he was scratching his ears and he pointed out that dogs always get itchy. I didn't think anything of it because our cockers always had ear problems. However, the dog has been scratching non-stop because he has fleas. We have 2 cats and have NEVER had fleas in our house or yard. Now I have to put all the animals on frontline, wash everything, shampoo the carpets, treat the puppy for some sort of dermatitis reaction to the flea bites, and spray the house and yard. The vet bill was $235!
I called the breeder on Saturday about the fleas and said how mad I was about the fleas. I asked for him to call me back. I've left 2 more messages since and he hasn't returned my calls! Can he be held liable for all these expenses? Please help! Thanks!

I am depressed because i had to break up with my boyfreind because he wanted to just be freinds. I creid in front of my cat and she stood up on her back legs and touched my face with her front paws twice to try to prevent me fom leaving. But she ran away when she saw my red face from crying!!why isn't she sitting by me?? Does she hate me?

i got this fish yesterday (crown betta)
it doesnt eat it floats around like a sick fish..
which is REALLY starting to worry me.
plus at times it seems like its tilted.

it seems to rub itself against the gravel
i see no sign of ich or fungus.
it appears to like corners, and the bottom of the tank.
help!

whats wrong with it??

so my shy part maine coone cat seems to have a 'nervous' skin". sometimes when I touch her ,her body seems to shiver/flutter particularly around her torso or so,as if the touch is almost too much. I have even observed at times when she is walking around it also occurs.any explanations on this??

I bought 4 flemish giant rabbits off a breeder and since got rid of them coz they were sneezing but I've now got some of my breeders that are sneezing.I've never had this problem in my barn until now.I've been raising them for 12 yrs.One of my pregnant does which is due on the 5th of august,is sneezing and I don't know what to do for her.Can some one help me?

When I was biking today, I found a miniscule rabbit/hare. It's about three and a half inches long, but it's head is rather large for its body. It may have been washed out of its burrow by the rain which was coming down in torrents. Its eyes aren't opened yet, and it can barely stand balanced. We put it in a shoebox with grass and leaves at first, feeding it 2% milk drop by drop. We also let it suck at a damp paper towel. It's sleeping in a cotton sock, and we moved it into a plastic fish tank, softening the bottom with other socks. We put a blue light about seven inches above it. I'm pretty sure it's still weaning. Please tell me how to care for it. We have no idea where its mother/burrow is, and if we knew what creature it was, that might help too. It looks only about five days old; really frail and weak. Please help!! Thanks so much.

He wakes me up in the middle of the night pulling his paws on the edge of boxes, or anything really. It's like he's trying to scratch, but he doesn't have claws! It's REALLY annoying and loud, waking me nightly!

my platy is pregnant. I can see her gravid spot. i can even see the little black spots inside. She started dropping to the bottom of tank and not eating. I want to breed them, and then have their offspring in a small outdoor aviary. But i want to know, I heard that the Zebras can be a bit aggressive, but they can be sexed by their feather coloring. I was reading the answers to another question on here about what could happen during delivery if a dog was too young to be bred in the first place, and one of them involved the uterus bursting and the female dying.

Here's the question: What would be the right thing to do if your dog goes into labor, her uterus breaks, you know that she's dying, but none of the puppies have been born. Let's say that you don't have any access to a nearby vet because it's a weekend and it's closed. You do, however, have the phone number of the emergency vet next to you just in case there were complications, but it's at least an hour away from you, and you know that by the time you get there, your dog will probably be dead, along with the majority of the pups...what would you do? Is it ethical to try to save the pups? I mean, the only way to save them, I'm strictly guessing, would be to open the mother and take them out one by one...but would you be able to do it if it happened?

Yesterday night, the power went out, and the heater was supposed to default to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 Celsius) when the power came back on, but for some reason, it went to 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 Celsius). This ended up killing the poor fish. :(

What she wants is a battery backup so that if power does go out, they would like the tank to maintain temperature.

I know the tank uses 0.125 KW or 125 Watts.

Can anyone recommend a solution?

I just noticed that my cat's paw is swollen and has a white lump on it (in the ankle area). Other than that, I see no injury (i.e. no scratch, puncture, etc). She is putting some weight on it but is not walking completely normal. Any ideas? Obviously, I am taking her to the vet first thing in the morning but is there anything I can do to make her comfortable until then?

I have had my goldfish Jose for about two months now. He has someting on his tail which I am concerned may be fin rot. It is faintly white, but not very much so. It is also slightly frayed, but again, not very much so. I am worried that he may have fin rot, and that he may pass it on to his tank buddies Paco and Maria. Does this sound like fin rot? I have done research on the disease but am still not sure whether he has it because the white and the fraying are very slight and very hard to see. I would treat the water with a fin rot medication just as a precaution, but I heard that it messes up the biological filter and gets rid of the good bacteria. If this is fin rot, what should I do?!?

my friends dog just ate a bag of chocolate accidentally.
she says he is in his cage panting like normally [she sees meaning hes happy]

had a problem on one of my fish had a white fuzzy spot on it and got very dull in color I removed from the tank all of the other fish looked great BUT NOW my goldfish its color is still vibrant but it is swimming around crazily and then it will float to the top and act like it’s tired of trying to stay down. It has no spots on it its just really fat all of my other fish anyone got any ideas
