I have a cute little monkey and I want to train him to ride my goats. Any ideas on either where to get a saddle or have one made? I googled goat saddle. Nothing came up that was of any use.

3 years ago I got two goldfish, but last year one died. Do you think he's lonely and would like a little friend? I haven't got another goldfish yet because I kinda just thought they were reaching their life expectancy but I heard they can live for decades and this one's hung on for another year so I dunno why the other one died. The tank is big enough for up to 3 fish but I think I'd just get one if I do get another one.

A couple weeks ago I took my cat in due to swollen, red, inflamed eyes with lots of green goop discharge. The vet diagnosed him with a URI, but only in his eyes. She said it was either herpes or one other name. (can't remember) She gave him two different antibiotic ointments to go in his eyes twice a day. I did that, but he still isn't well. Some days his eyes will be normal, then the next day he will wake up and they will be inflamed. I'm concerned that the infection might have gotten in his bloodstream. Does this sound common? I'm so worried about him. I plan to make another vet visit, so you don't have to tell me that.. but has anything heard or seen anything like this? I'm so concerned!

FYI- He isn't active like he normally is. He is still eating/drinking and using the litterbox.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anything can be mistaken for ICH. I recently bought a new fan tail 3 days ago and put him in quarentine. After the 1st day I noticed several white spots on his body and fins so I put about 20 teaspoons of salt in the tank. (its a 20 gallon tank) So anyways, this morning I noticed the spots were gone. I was under the impression that the life cycle of ICH was around at least a week. How could the spots be gone after 1 day?

He is only 6/12 and was diagnosed w/ diabetes insipidus last Ocotober and has been on Desmopressin the synthetic hormone in an eye drop form since Oct. He went from an active dog to a lifeless stuffed animal, he doesn't want to do anything he used to do. He is also on thyroid meds. He was just at the vet last month and all of his levels are normal. Does anyone know the side effects of desmopressin b.c. I think that is causing all of his terrible side effects. I just want my old dog back :(

I just need to know what I can do to help his diarrhea, it is keeping both of us up all night. He has to go outside like every 30 minutes to potty. And only potty's a little bit, and its really really runny diarrhea. I think it is just because of a change in puppy food from what the breeder was feeding him. They told us it was likely that he would get diarrhea. And that it would last about a week or so, but is there anything I can give him or do to help with it? Also... he eats dirt and dead leaves out in our yard, and sometimes plants, but not a whole lot. Could this be part of it? How do we keep him from doing that?

I've heard that yorkies are good for people with asma or breathing disorders because of their fur or lack of hair or something. Does anyone know of a larger dog that has similiar qualities and that won't interfere with my breathing. Thanks in advance for any advise and accurate information you can share.

I might get gerbils soon and I have 3 questions about them. Here it goes.
1. Do they live better in pairs? If so, which pairs are better, males or females?
2. Would a cage like this one http://www.petco.com/product/8304/Coast-Cages-Condos-for-Hamsters-or-Mice.aspx be good for two of them?
3. Do gerbils chew everything up?

If you can help me, I will be glad. I will read each answer carefully befor choosing a best answer.

If I see one more person on this section start talking about alpha rolls, and being an alpha to your dog I am going to scream!

I would challenge anyone who thinks these theories are valid to please give me ONE qualified behaviorist, or one trainer who is recognized in dog behavior who can explain WHY these theories are valid.

When I was about to graduate from college I was given the opportunity to study with L. David Mech. He is one of the people who came up with these theories. They were never intended to be applied to dogs.

Please read:

http://www.clickersolutions.com/articles/2001/dominance.htm
http://behaviorcorner.com/blog/category/dog-behavior/dominance/

I have taught obedience for 30+ years. I've probably had 800+ students.

Alpha rolls, grabbing a dog by the scruff, etc. cause more harm than good.

The gauntlet is down. JUST ONE SOURCE!

Yesterday a cat was meowing loudly (sounded a bit like a racing car) outside my office window. We let her in and she wandered about the office looking for something. She wasn't interested in eating. Someone wondered if her kittens had been taken away from her and she was trying to find them. Could he be right?

My mom hates rodents, lizards, and bugs, so they're, and not fish, because I hate cleaning the rocks. I was thinking about 2 tree frogs, but I'm not at all sure. Or maybe a hermit crab, I dunno. I NEED suggestions!!!
