My betta got fin rot shortly after I added him into my community tank. None of the other fish showed signs of the fungus so I began to think it was a bacteria only prone to Betta's but I still looked up fin-rot and he shows all the symptoms so thats what Im going with. I took him out of the tank and placed him in the little container that i bought him in (I always save them just in case >.>) and I have him medicated with Fungus Clear.

So anyways, my question:

How long should it take before he's cured? If this is causing him unecessary pain, ill be willing to euthanize him but that'd be as a last resort and I really wouldnt want to do that. Does anyone else have any suggestions on some other, stronger, medications that I can use? Ive had him in the container with the meds for two days now with no signs of improvement.

In the tank I have:
Two calico fantail goldfish.
Four Marigold swordtails.
Two rubbernosed pleco's.
Two tetra-like fish.

I bought this puppy last Thur. (10 days ago). For the first 3 days he refused to eat, after I took him to 2 different vets both said he was fine give him more time to adjust. He refuses to play at all. He will not eat treats. He will only eat dry puppy chow and thats only if every one leaves the room and he's alone. He hiddes and will not come out unless you find him and drag him out. Although he never plays he is the most lovable puppy ever he loves to cuddle up to you and wines if you put him down. If you try to call hi he does not respond we will just sit and wine unless you go pick him up. I just want him to be a happy puppy!!!

My cocker is 9 years old and has infections basically since birth. He is on special food from the vet, not scraps, ear cleaning reg. and on Bennidryl daily for his ears, but they always stink, hot, the lightest shade is dark pink. The one ear is his problem(left) it has scar tissue, at his age is he too old to have the drum removed to prevent infection and does that really work. ? he seems to be effected by the enviroment as well. I spend thousands of dollars a year on his ears and I will keep doing it till he dies, but any other suggestions?

He now has a bald spot on his back. Paws is a neutered 3 yr old male who eats well, is assertive but not aggressive, & plays. He has a hutch he can hop out of to roam around--he gets the 24 hr run of our large outdoor deck. He lives in temperate weather (Honolulu). The nibbling started a few days ago, but I don't know of anything new or different in our household.

Which is the best watch/guard dog, but still managable and friendly of these three:
German Pincher
Great Dane
Rottweiler

We would like two dogs to watch over our place of business at night and in the day they would be home with the family as beloved pets. Must be good with children and cats.

Suggestions? Personal experience?

I have a red platy who was just introduced to a fairly new fish tank (water has been cycling for a week w/ just 2 guppies in it).

I introduced 6 new platies, but one platy displayed the following symptoms:
-Loss of movement
-Occasional erratic movements.
-White patches on head, neck, mouth, above eyes, on gills.
-Dwelling at top corner surface of tank.

I quarantined him, what now?

I have a himalayan cat, who I belive is now having her first heat cycle. She is laying flat on the floor, everything but her back legs, and she moves them back and forth. She is doing this constantly, day and night while howling. Usually when I pick her up she just hangs limp, but now when I try and pick her up her whole body is stiff and back arched, and her tail keeps twiching kind of like muscle spasms. I've been told that when cats come into heat that they will want extra attention and howl a lot, but is this also normal for cats when they come into heat?

It just appeared today, it's really hard, and it doesn't seem to hurt. Could it be a Goiter? I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow.

i was watching animal cops and this lady had a dead boxer in her back yard and 3 flea infested rotts with NO food or water in sight... all she got was 6 months probation.. I think she needed 6 months jail with NO FOOD OR WATER personally.

I do because:
They are dirty
They will give rabies
They will bite you
They are stupid
They never respect their owner
They poop and pee around the house
They bark for no reasons
They eat garbage
They act retarded
They like your face
Who needs dogs, I rather have a diseased cat than a dog.
So I'm asking you that do you hate dogs?

I have been searching at fish stores around the San Leandro, Hayward, and Union City (all in california) area for this substrate or any of the other plant substrates but the only one i found was the 20 oz. laterite. I checked petsmart and petco and they dont even sell them at their stores. I dont really want to buy it online because its heavy to ship and would rather buy it at a store than get it shipped to me. Does anyone in the area know where i can buy SeaChems's flourite or something similar (like ONYX or ecocomplete) in the Hayward area (or nearby cities)?

Rainbow is about 4 years old. She has a bald spot on her back that we noticed today. There is no scabs or scars on her. She is eating right, and squeaking like she always does. But she is thin. We notice that she is sitting in the corner of her cage byherself alot more today. She is in the cage with her mother, Cinnamon, and she is about 6, but she is fine and healthy. Do any of you guys know whats wrong?

Need to know How common this is in dogs. Any help thanx. I DO know what it is. The elevation in intraocular pressure occurs due to impaired outflow of aqueous humor through the iridocorneal angle. How many people have had this with their dog?
