Today i noticed that in my 2.5 gallon tank that i have some parasites, they are small less the 1/8th of an inch long, very thin and white in color. The only fish i have in the tank is a 2 inch pleco. They dont seem to be affecting him.

I am wondering what they are, and where they could have came from.

I live in a small apartment, so it'll have to be small or medium. and not a barking fanatic, though i understand dogs will be dogs. oh yeah it's got to be cute too, even when it gets older.

and the most important thing is it's got to be very intelligent and personable. There are dogs that feel like dogs and then there are dogs that feel like friends. pick me out a friend

I was taught that cats, because their eyes do not have cones, but only rods, are only capable of seeing black, white and shades of gray. But when I get my cat Corwin felt balls to play with, he seems to prefer red and white ones to black and white. Can cats distinguish hues, or only "dark gray" and "light gray?"

The owner says that he is a greater sulphur crested but he is only 16 inches which makes me think that he is a either a lesser or a medium. The bird is super sweet and loving and of course healthy. My concern is that he is already 3 years old. I know still extremely young for a cockatoo. I would be his 3rd home. The first home was with an old lady that couldn't take care of him anymore. The second home is with a breeder that bought him along with all of the other lady's breeder birds. He was not a breeder but a pet. He now lives with this family and their 3 kids. is extremely gentle and loving. he is very friendly and loving to me when I go to visit him. My worry is that moving him to a new house may upset him as he is bonded to the wife of this family. Is it going to be a fight to get him to bond to me and my family? Or will this be an easy task since he is already so sweet? suggestions from experienced people plz

well today is sunday and she is now moving around she wore off the grogginess but shes too weak also sometimes her back shivers because of pain and then it stops. she wants to leave the room and we let her roam for 5 mins but she went downstairs and was too weak to climb up so i had to bring her but we are not taking her out of the room anytime soon. tomorrow i feel bad because we will be at work till 4 but i will leave everything in the room with a baby gate and the blinds open. she is mostly sleeping i dont even think she ate anything today im just surprised that people say their cats bounce back but shes just sleeping and sleeping and cant move around much without getting tired or being in pain i think. i dont know why the vet gave me this lixotinic thing if its not a pain killer i will call them tomorrow she only shivers sometimes because of the pain but now shes ok. im just freaked out because this cat seems like she is just tooooo weak.

My husband used it on his leg and once he got in bed the cat was licking the blanket, meowing a lot and rolling around on the floor. He was also trying to get under the blanket. My other cat doesn't do this and I have never heard of it before.

Anyone have any ideas why?

Thanks!!!

I have a 3 month old puppy who keeps squating like she is giong to the bathroom. It happens like every 30 minutes, she still can pee but when she squats to go sometimes nothing comes out or its just very little and she does this quite often. When i take her outside to go she does go. But i dont understand why she keeps squating like she has to go every 20 minutes, but nothing comes out. I have a vet appointment tomarrow. But i was just wondering in the mean time if anyone knows what this is. or has experienced this before..? any help is really appriciated.

I know this is an odd off the wall question to but is it safe to give my dog just a little bit of cranberry juice..?

I bought two goldfish today and put them in a large vase, purely for aesthetics, not as pets. The vase holds about a gallon and a half of water, maybe a tiny bit more more. They seem to be fine in there and have plenty of room to swim around, but that vase is not huge, so there is limited space. I made sure to pick out small fish (they're both about 2" long). I guess what I'm getting at is, is it cruel to keep them in a smaller space as apposed to, say, a 10 gallon tank? Do goldfish even have a concept of space?

I have a short-haired black cat, who is one year old. he just turned one in december. He just had what seems like two seizures back to back, he's not convulsing, he's staggering back and forth in a circle and his eyes are moving quickly back and forth. I dont know what it is.
We just brought home a kitten from the Humane Society 2 weeks ago, he just came home from the vet they both had an upper respiratory infection from the kennel and were put on ammaxicillin for it. The kitten was fixed and declawed. They both got some advantage, so no fleas!

It's so late at night and I'm so desparate to know what to do for him, he won't eat we tried feeding him, incase his blood sugar's low. He's ate small amounts, but no seizure in the last hour. I'm just afraid - What should I do? I will be calling the vet in the morning, but i was wondering if there something i could do for now, i have no way to get a hold of the vet right now.

I'm working on an idea to try to incorporate a policy amongst breeders and pet stores who buy from breeders to require people who wish to purchase large parrots to A) Take a class on nutrition, cage information (toy placement, toys, size, etc) and most importantly behavior. and B) To require that each purchase includes a one year membership to an exotic bird club that would put them in contact with others who have parrots and that could help them as problems arrise.

My question to you is what do you think this idea, and if you were to play devil's advocate, what would your problem with this idea be?

we have a 7 year old pet cockatiel and he just flies around the house. we havent been able to find him in 3 days (we always see him everyday) and we know he didnt get outside. however, we have searched the house and havent been able to find him anywhere. we think if he died of natural causes we would be able to find him. we kinda gave up on looking and now are just waiting to find him. but i was kinda confused i mean after 3 days if he was dead, wouldnt we start to smell it?

I have 2 Norwich Terriers. They are soooooo cute! My girl is 1 1/2 and my boy is 8 months. I'm planning to breed them soon. At what age is it okay to breed my dogs? How much vet care do I need to get my girl during her pregnancy? This will be my first time breeding dogs and any other advice would be helpful.

I have a female Leopard Gecko. I've put gut-loaded, dusted crickets into her habitat, and she acts likes she wants nothing to do with them.
Any ideas of how to get her to eat? Dishes? Methods? Other foods?
I know that crickets are better for Leopards, but if I dust mealworms would that work just as well?

Thanks!
