You can use a flea shampoo available at just about anywhere but it would be safer to use dish soap. Fleas dislike the lemon scent so go with that for now. I also heard Head and Shoulders shampoo is excellent for combatting fleas. And though I bought a bottle today, I haven't tried it yet. But both dish and H&S are pesticidal free so they'd be safer to use on a pup so young. Just be sure you rinse the coat thoroughly and dry him completely so he doesn't get chilled. Also keep an eye out for worms; fleas are big with tape worms. Good luck!!!

Flea Baths are full of too much chemicals for a puppy DON'T DO IT!
A puppy is small, it's fur is thin, just fill the bathtub or sink and hold the dog in with only it's head sticking out.. pretty soon you will see some drowning fleas scamper to the head for safety, you can then comb them off with a flea comb, or whatever.
Use a mild dishsoap, or baby shampoo, you will be able to see all the fleas once the pup is wet, just pick em off, this will provide tons of relief for your pup, then when you can, go to a vet and get a flea treatment suitable for puppies.
Good Luck!

you can give your new puppy a flea bath. Absolutely. As soon as i got mine i washed it thoroughly with a flea bath. On the back of flea bottles its written if its suitable for puppies and from what age. Usually is from 4 weeks so you should be allright. Mine was 8 weeks when i washed it. And its also a good thing to start giving baths at an early age so that they get used to it.

8 WEEKS and up is usually okay with some flea products, but not any for a 3 weeks old. You can use Johnson's and Johnson's baby regular shampoo. If the pup has fleas you don't want to wait, the pup could be come sick, from blood loss. Damp the pup, shampoo and wait 5 mins. this will only kill whats on the pup not was is in the home, make sure to rinse well. Also make sure the pup doesn't get a chill, keep warm, until completely dry. Call you vet for recommendations on the home environment. This shampoo is safest for ears, eyes, and skin.

yes you can, you have to get something called deflea found in pet stores to kell the fleas. You will want to do several treatments with this until you see no more fleas. second you will want to treat your home so that you don't have an outbreak. third where did you get the puppy because any good breeder would not have sent you home first with a 7 week old puppy nor one that is covered in fleas.

you definetly need to consult a vet. 7 weeks old is very young for a puppy to have a flea bath. they are small and u dont want to hurt the puppy. my mother made the mistake of giving a puppy a flea bath and he was on the verge of death, he lost alot of weight and wouldn't eat. so u really need to consult with a professional on that one.

Before any type of flea bath is administered to the puppies, check with your vet. Don't forget the heart worms preps., and shots too.
