That's normal for a pet rock. Once they get their belly full they don't eat for a few weeks maybe even a month. Don't worry about it. When he's hungry he will eat. Just leave his normal pet rock food out for him.

was the rock taken from a stream or river where other rocks were in abundance. if so it could be suffering depression. this particular genis of rock are herd creatures like the wilderbeast. it would be wise, if this were the case, to introduce more into the herd 2 or 3 at a time until you have at least 10. ten is the number that can normally be managed sucessfully in a small herd as they have enough numbers to feel secure, less than this they become skitish and depressed. once you have established your herd you will notice a significant difference in eating habits. i do understand that the extra cost in feed and housing would be substantial, but the rewards will be worth it. there is nothing more satisfying than to sit back after a long hard days work and watch contented rocks, contented happy rocks all together. however, like all migratory species in captivity, don't over feed them in winter, this is a time that they should be lean, although they will still become nervy at dusk and dawn during this time. it is best to feed them at this time to distract them and prevent possible injuries to the the herd. studies have shown that THE FLINTSTONES movie could not be shown to a herd at anytime as it caused fear and confusion within the herd. Monash university published studies that had shown the FLINTSTONES cartoons to varios herds with no deprimental effects apart from weight gain when viewed for extended periods of time. here at MISFIT FARM we are in the process of publishing our first book on ROCK HUSBANDRY IN THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY, it was interesting doing the photography and we all loved the ground work involved.

Most pet rocks will eat ground rock, known as sand, if they aren't eating anything else. This is the food of rocklings in captivity. Pet rocks will almost always eat something that reminds them of their childhood. If you must, force feed him, but keep a phone and a friend nearby... the little buggers don't like force feeding.
Alternatively, he might be in some sort of depression. Try showing him a movie. Mine likes Pyrites of the Caribbean personally.

Dude, if you just waste your time asking us on Yahoo Answers, why don't you swallow the poor rock and let the rock feed on your insides while you lay in a coffin? The rock is more important than you!!

Are you sure it's a him? I have heard that the female of the rock species go off food when pregnant! I would take him/her to a rock specialist just to make sure it's not sick, but be prepared for a litter of pebbles!

Very good question! I second with the one who suggested that your rock might be pregnant... That does sound a bit like the "knocked-up rock" food avoidance!

you need a tub of yogurt dip your rock into it... let green slime grow on it for period of time under shadey moist area.
but first you must need to start a fire, get some sticks and use your rock as a base to start the fire..
