It sounds like you might have a black moor (see photo http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=black+moor&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8).
If this is what you have, their abdomens are usually big! This is not a sign of pregnancy, as both sexes will look "plump". These fish are egglayers. Fish can get tumors, but a tumor wouldn't always be symmetrical (same on both sides of the body).
Hope this helps!

I'm going to assume that, based on your description, you have a Black Molly. Mollies are live-bearers, meaning their young are born fully formed rather than hatched from eggs as with most fish.
Female live-bearers will show a black spot on their belly near the anal fin. This doesn't help you much since you may have a Black Molly.
If you're certain your fish is a pregnant female, you can do a couple of things. You can add A LOT of live plants to the tank to provide hiding places for the newborn fish. Or you can move the fish to a new tank before she gives birth. If that's not an option, you can purchase a live bearer gestation shelter. This is something that usually floats in or attaches to the side of the tank and gives shelter to the mother and the offspring. It also protects the fry (baby fish) from the mother. This is important as live-bearers are notorious for eating their own young.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

While black moors are on the plump side they wouldn't be getting plumper at the speed you responses are coming back. If it is getting plumper this could mean your fishes kidneys have shut down (due to an infection of one sort or another). unfortunately treating this kind of infection while possible is very difficult Sera makes an excellent product for internal infections called baktopur direct but you might find something simular in a good local pet shop. good luck

If you think its a goldfish look up goldfish breeding on the web. You'll probably have to separate it as goldfish eat almost anything that are smaller then them.

I don't think a fish is going to have mood swings and want peanut butter ice cream with pickle topping so you'll just have to wait and see. If it does have babies you can use them for pirhanna food.

ask her! or try a EPT test LOL I just had to!!! The best way to tell is wait for the eggs to come out. Just because its belly is bigger doesnt mean that it is preggo.

Sorry Seth, but without some idea as to what kind of fish it is it would really be impossible to help very much.

Alright to be able to tell if it is pregnant examine your tank DAILY! Repeat this for 1 Year (End Results) If more little fish appear in the tank your fish was pregnant! If no extra fish your fish was not pregnant! Hope this Helps...
