Yes take her to the Vet. My dog had a golfball size place come up on her mouth and the Vet said she had been bitten by a poisonous snake or spider.. He had to drain it and gave her Antibiotics to take.. Good Luck

The following is a site that discusses the different things that it could be. The site's information is probably a little more scary than it needs to be. I have chow chows and they seem prone to getting lumps. Some have very large and turn out to be basically acne or cysts that I have had removed -- not serious at all. Those tend to be around the neck area.

this might be youre problem,my dog has had a lump on his chest that is so-so hardiness...and our vet said it was a fat tumor...is your dog fat?that might be it...its not that bad they can remove it but just dont feed your dog anymore people food and if you have a cat put up the catfood and it can shrink but if you keep feeding him stuff thats not good for him,it will grow and interfere with muscle movements and nerves.

It could be a tumor, although tumors usually do not just appear that large so quickly. I'm glad you are taking her in. Better safe than sorry!

that could be very serious, or maybe just something minor, but it never hurts to get it checked out.
