I've tried the stretchy neoprene, the buckle, and the SafeCat safety collars. My little monkey (cat) manages to get them all off or get his lower jaw stuck in them, which is very dangerous. If I tighten the SafeCat one enough, he can't get his mouth on it (I think), but he ends up straining the safety clasp, with his foot I guess, till it comes off. Maybe it comes off when he's wrestling with the other cat. Well, now the clasp is worn out and won't stay on more than a day. He's not the most coordinated and has fallen off the deck (one story, he's fine), so I do have to keep an ID tag on him.

pointer, but she would chase it and I would shine it on the front door and she was launching herself like 5 and a half feet straight up. It was crazy, she was jumping as high as my chin! She is only about a year old and was the runt of her litter.

I hear that this breed is a *high-strung type* as it is and was purchased from a pet store. I have heard that "pet-store" dogs are the worst kind of puppies to get because of the conditions they are kept in. BUT I do love my pet and want this to work out. He is only 4 months old, knows his name, and the "go to bed"(pet bed) command. He is usually confined to his crate or bathroom. I just can't seem to get him to stop *going* in the crate or in the rest of the apt. PLEASE HELP.....

My almost 5-month-old pup is chewing on everything!!! I live in an apartment so I can't afford to have her chewing on furniture and ripping at the wallpaper. She chews on toys and I lay out plenty of different ones to keep her occupied and I give her rawhide chews every day to keep her mouth busy, but she still insists on chewing on the cabinets, chair legs, and baseboards. Will this go on much longer?! And if so what can I do to keep her from messing up everything?

Any natural protection to animals' teeth-health?. No bad-breath/bacteria problems in mouth of the animals?.
Similarly what are the reasons where animals' hair/nails do not grow abnormally beyond a point when it happens so to un-caring humans?

Hey,
I've been trying to teach my 12 week old Chihuahua/Jack Russell puppy to drop things on command, such as toys when we play fetch. Are there any particular techniques I can use to teach him this? He can be quite bitey at times, we're patient with him but it usually hurts, and I'm afraid that when his teeth get stronger he'll bite and not let go.

I have an 11 week old Weimaraner and he is doing well on housebreaking. I was thinking of getting another puppy, would this be easier or could it possibly make my puppy regress? Also, if I have two puppies, do I put them in the same crate when I'm gone or separate?

All have thick winter coats, but the weather has been so weird (unseasonable) up until now. The barn is not at all drafty. They have shavings for bedding. Their ages range from 7-13 years.

My dog is 3 years old (rescued) a pug/chihuaua mix we think because his nose isn't completely flattened and he shakes like a chihuaua. He weighs 24 lb's after losing weight on Hills prescription canned RD formula. The food is high in fiber so he was going potty 3 times a day. I asked the vet if I could reintroduce the canned Science Diet light he used to have so that he wouldn't have to go so much but now it seems he is going more! He goes 4 sometimes more times a day. Should I be worried? Is there some dog foods that cause more than others?

I am going out to AZ to visit my dad for 9 days, and I am not sure what to do about my cat while I'm gone. I was thinking I would just have my bf and my friend come visit him to feed him, spend time with him, etc. One problem is, my cat has been lonely/upset lately because I had to put my other kitty to sleep about a month ago.

My friend offered to just have him stay at her place while I'm gone, but I am not sure if that's a better idea. She has two cats herself. All the cats are fixed, so that's not an issue. My cat stayed at my mom's for a few months while I was in between apartments and did fine with her two cats. My friend and I are planning to do a trial run next week to see how they get along.

Which do you think would be a better? Should he stay alone at my place (with visitors) or stay with my friend (as long as they all seem to get along)?
