I have an 11 week old Weimaraner and he is doing well on housebreaking. I was thinking of getting another puppy, would this be easier or could it possibly make my puppy regress? Also, if I have two puppies, do I put them in the same crate when I'm gone or separate?

It is harder to do everything with 2 puppies... I had 2 at a time and it is alot more than twice as much work. If you can get them both on a schedule, that would be good. Then when you take them out, wether they want to or not, they will go, and not pay so much attention to eachother, but to what they need to. I would suggest getting a female since you already have a male so they are not fighting over the who is more dominant. My puppies did that and it got old...very quick. When you leave, I would put them in seperate crates because there will not be enough room for both when they get bigger, and they will also "miss" eachother if they are used to being in the same cage. That may cause problems. We put our dogs next to eachother, so they could still sense the other and it worked well. Make sure if you get another one that you still give the same amount of attention you are giving right now to your first dog. Dogs can get jealous too and sometimes it can turn into a bad situation.
Good luck! If you get a buddy for him, I hope everything works out for you!

It can be a little difficult because one may be fine while the other one is in another room going. Be mindful of how long it has been since they have been out and always take them together. We have two puppies and got them at the same time. We found that at the beginning it was easiest to take them outside on leashes (the flexies so they can get their distance from you). After a while we just let them out and they know why they are out there. Definitely two crates side by side. Our puppies play and fight constantly but it can get real rough so we need to step in and settle them down a little. If they were in the same crate they could hurt each other.

It can be done very easily, just take them both out at the same toime and clean up any accidents immediatly in order to prevent the other from smelling it. Since the pups wouldn't be litter mates, then I would suggest using seperate crates. If the pups had been brought home together, then you could keep them together, but not in this case. The pups will each need their own safe places to get away from each other.

I brought two Doberman puppies 3 years ago and i found that they copy each other in behavior when one went to the litter tray the other copied so i found it no harder than one but separate crates prob as they tend to fight over space and toys etc....lastly make sure when training its done separately as if one puppy makes a mistake and you correct them, you will confuse the other when he/shes done nothing wrong,

it is double the work, i have 2 corgis, i got the second one when the older one was 1. sometimes dogs regress and learn bad behavior from other dogs. but you do need to be consistent and show no favorites, it'll take about 2-3 months for the dogs to know each other and figure out pack orders. keep them in seperate crate, give them their own space to find comfort and shelter from one another.

Crate practise might want to be powerful. they don't frequently pee etc the position they sleep. I used pee pads for my pup and take him outdoors besides. Rubbing their nostril interior the poop can cause them to receive a style for it. i'm having hassle breaking my 9 mos previous from eating cat or different canine or maybe deer poop. He doesn't eat his own, thank goodness. I even ought to video demonstrate him like a hawk even as outdoors. it really is extremely uncomplicated for canine to attempt this. some human beings have fulfillment with clutter containers for canine. they have particular clutter to apply and also you may purchase a twig to inspire the animal to "pass" the position you pick them to. once you're taking him outdoors and if he has fulfillment, keep taking him again to an identical spot. he will be ready to smell the position he has been. I have an older canine and that i walk both canine mutually. The pup now watches the position the different has lengthy previous and could rush top over and pee interior of an identical spot. not in any respect hit or spank even as they have injuries, basically say no or undesirable in an exceedingly agency and pass voice so that they understand it really is incorrect and also you're displeased. in uncomplicated words try this in case you seize them interior the act. in case you do not look them do it, it really is basically too late. basically keep taking him/her out typically till the mild bulb finally is going on and they seize on. sturdy success.

It is not harder with multiple puppies, they will be doing the same thing. Separate crates, side by side.

I housebroke my two mastiff pups at the same time but I got them at the same time. If you put your new pup on the same schedule as your current one it shouldn't be a problem. I think it would be ok to put them in the same crate as long as they are the same size and there is plenty of room.

if things are going well with the first everything should be fine. As long as you are very attentive and do not allow either one to go in the house..they need to be in separate crates
