A nail trim is only $15. If you can't afford to spend $15 on your pet I suggest rehoming it.

I used to clip my dogs nails all the time. Go to the pet store and buy a good pair of nail clippers the sharper they are the faster the job and a cleaner cut you will get. My dog didn't like for anyone to cut her nails but after a while she would lie right there and let me do it. At first I would have to pet and coax her to lay on her side then I would grasp a paw firmly but not hard and clip a nail she would try to pull it away from me but I kept talking to her and kept the firm grip. I got the first paw done and she was up like a shot. I let it go and did the other paw later I repeated this until all four paws were done. They can be sharp so I took her outside and took her for a long walk as a reward, this helped round off the square tips and smooth out some of the burrs caused by the clipping. Each time it got easier and eventually it wasn't a hassle at all. If you only clip off a little at a time you don't have to worry about getting the vien if you should happen to nip the vein and your dog does bleed dip his/her paw in flour if you don't have the money to buy the stuff in the pet store it works just as well. I found if you look at the nail really close you can tell where to not clip it but for the first few times just take a little off until you are a pro at it! I also found this was another bonding thing to do with my dog she liked the intimacy and closeness of the grooming she was a sucker for a dog comb too! :) Good luck.

Buy some nail cutters.
My dog has all back nails that grow like crazy dispite walks on the concrete. My vet told me to cut small amounts off at a time and wait a week in between each cutting so you don't hit the vain.
For my last dog with white and black nails, I'd cut the white ones first and use them to measure where to cut the black ones.
They need to be taken care of so they don't effect the movement of the dog.

get some clippers, but be picky about the clippers you buy. make sure they are sharp, (trust me, i've seen some cheap ones that are made of plastic) but the biggest thing is make sure they have a guard on them. it's a little slide that slips in front of the sharp blades, to make sure you don't cut off too much at once. my dog has some black nails too, and just make sure you don't clip more off the black ones than the white ones, or else you'd cut into the quick.

Go buy a pair of nail clippers (like, $4 at any pet or feed store) and do it yourself! Just don't cut too far and get the quick. Get some styptic powder while you're at it- it controls bleeding in case you cut too close and your dog starts to bleed.
It's simple and easy to do.

i have 2 corgis and i never have to trim their nails. i walk them 45 mins a day. the concrete alone helps to grind down their nails quite a bit. I live in Florida

look on the web for hints on trimming a dog's nails
i think putting a bright light under each nail as they are cut will help you see the veins in there
so you do not cut too short

Go buy some clippers and clip them yourself. It doesn't matter if some are black and some are white, just don't clip the quick or you dog will bleed like crazy. Clippers are cheap, head to Walmart.

I'm a guy, and privately, I don't like long nails. I actually know a lot of like very long, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

calmly and confidently do it yourself. if you cant, your vet may do it for free if you are there anyhow to get shots or whatever. if no, then take your dog for a run on some concrete often, as this will file down the nail. i never have to clip my boxer's nails for this reason, they are always perfect cuz she runs on pavement a lot.
