I think I have now decided that an Eclectus would be the best parrot for me. Thanks for all the input! Now, I just need to decide between male and female. I have read that females can be more nippy but I know all birds will be different. What differences have you experienced between the males and females. Is the talking ability different? Does one bond better with their owner? Any known problems with either sex?

My bird is a cockatiel and is 5 years old.He is an overall nice bird exept he wont let you pick him up or even touch him.If you try to he will bite really hard.He isn't vicous he whistles and talks to you.Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Just recently my snake has been funny with me. it's still only a baby and I've had it for a couple of months now. Whenever I go to take it out, it seems to avoid me and if I do manage to get it out then it kind of gets stuck to my hand and wriggles as if it cannot move. However, I just put that down to my hands being clammy and changed to letting it move on the back of my hands but it still seems to try and get away. the other day it also bit me when i tried to get it out. does anyone know what might be up with it and what i should do? thanks x

ok, i have 2 gerbils, who are brother littermates, and they are *about* 12 weeks old, they've been having little quarrels lately that last about 5-10 seconds. I can't tell if they are play fighting, or actually fighting. I don't think they are biting each other, it's hard to see exactly what they are doing..... they've been living together they're whole lives- are they're other ways of telling whether or not it is a playfight??
(this happens once or twice a day)

She had about 40 fry the first time and this is her second time. She still has the black spot and she still has a round belly. She gave maybe half of them and she's still got more. Is it okay to put her back with the rest of the fish? Will the rest be born later?

His name is Spud and he's a few months old. He's been vomiting a lot and now he's started having sort-of 'spasms', where his muscles jerk and he swallows or gags. I took him to the vet and the vet said he didn't know WHAT it was, and sent me home with antibiotics. Needless to say, I'm not happy with that answer!

Spud seems to be alert, but has been acting as if he doesnt feel well the past two days, along with throwing up, trembling and having spasms. What could this be? He does go outside, but none of our cats have ever gotten into anything poisonous. The vet didn't even consider this possibility. He's been eating and drinking fine. I'm so worried! Please tell me what you think it could be!

We can place a dog bisquit or any type of food next to our dog and she doesnt "smell" it. we have to SHOW her where the treat is... goofy dog!!!

I have two mollies and ones orange.. the other is black and white... they live in a little 5 gallon on my desk.. i had 3 but one died. I don't know if i am overfeeding them. I give them 2 large servings of Wardley Tropical Flakes which might be too much but i was just wondering if maybe i shouldn't feed them that much and their cage gets dirty really fast which may have something to do with it... please help... thank you much appreciated!

We got a cat from a never-home neighbour 2+ months ago. He's pretty wary of people; we barely saw him for the first month or so.

Now, he hangs around us and will even ask for a brief petting. Things are improving, but he's still extremely skittish.

If you force him into a petting, he often stops trying to get away and starts purring.

Would you keep occasionally forcing a petting given the purrs, or should we just leave him to come to us?

Details: He was found in the middle of a busy highway. He had scabies really bad and lost his hair from the waste down. They were calling him Scabby at the vet, but I didn't like that. He is a mutt mix I guess, looks like pitt and some kind of long haired dog. His coloring is brindle, and his hair is medium length. Looks like a crazy dog!
