Is there any way to make my dog not be so damn hyper? She is half palmeranian (sp) and half American Eskimo (small dog) and she is always licking me and jumping around. She gets so excited that she pees in the floor. Anyway to fix that?

He's 9 months. Jumps around a lot. We try to ignore it so he doesn't get overly excited. Was ignoring it this morning and he jumped off the couch and wacked his front left leg on the coffee table corner. He immediately started whimpering and holding it funny so I assumed it was broken and whisked him to the vet. She palpated all over, said it felt fine and at that point he was walking on his own, no limp. $50 and we went home.

Now, several hours later, he cried after jumping off our front stoop. His limp is worse than it was this morning. Called the vet, she said to just keep an eye on it and if it's worse tomorrow, go ahead and bring him back in.

I'm a very nervous new dog mom, but I also don't have a lot of cash. An x-ray would help my fears but since I'd rather not shell out for that, I'm hoping somebody on Yahoo Answers has experienced this or knows what I should worry/not worry about?

Thanks if you read this entire thing! :)

We also have a 11 month old Rottweiler who I take with me all the time because he isnt high strung like she is she barks at everything which leads me to leave her at home. I dont know what to do she likes that bitter apple she licks it off. What can I do? Please Help !

We have a cat that craves attention. (I think he is part Siamese for any that are familiar with the personality.) He loves to be held and wants attention ALL of the time. He meows if he feels ignored at all. We are going on vacation for ten days and my husband thinks we should board him so he doesn't get lonely but I think this would be traumatic. What do you guys think?

He is about a year old now, a rescue dog. His name now is Junior, but he doesn't listen to it, and I think a new name in a new home is a good start. He is pitbull dog, mainly all white with a brindle head and a few spots on his back. I have another Pit at home and her name is Gypsy. I'd like a name that is compareable to hers, and maybe strating with a S, but that is not the most important. I don't want a name that is sick or mean sounding. I don't think that should be attached to these breeds. He is a little shy, but very lovable, and playful.. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

Will she need antibiotics, pain meds, or what? What if she won't take them.

My persian kitten has beautiful long soft grey hair but it really seems to be too long. I groom him and try and wash him every couple of weeks or so, think bundle of teeth and claws and you'll get the picture, but I've never seen a cat with such long hair.

Should he/could he get a trim?

I have been syringe feeding him. I've blended fish, milk and vitamins, milk and cereal. He is taking a small amount but rejecting the rest. We can't keep him inside because it's the height of summer and we have no air conditioning and he's a veritible houdini, even with all the windows and doors shut. We have cleaned the bank out with vet fees and can't afford any more treatment there. Does anyone have any cheap pain relief ideas for cats? Anyone know of any feeding ideas for a cat who can't chew?

My dog has been throwing up off and on for a week, but she is acting nomal, eating and drinking fine. Even her poops are normal.
She is vomiting at all different times of the day sometimes just clear mucus other time digested and undigested food. It seems really strange. I called my vet and they told me to use pepto bismol but I just don't see how that is going to do any good if she can keep food and liquid down most of the time. Please help, what could this be?

My dog went into heat for the first time this week and she's been peeing constantly. I've got an appointment to get her fixed Tuesday but I was wondering if a dog that's in heat for the first time keeps peeing in little bits or could it be a UTI?

Every time I take my excitable pup outside she wants to run at full speed and she tugs at the end of the leash like a fish on a line. I was very patient with her and I laughed and told her to calm down when she was smaller. Now that she's bigger she's gotten quite a bit of strength and it's harder to hold her back and it's starting to hurt my hand trying to keep from flapping in the wind behind her as she runs into the area that I walk her. What's a good training method to get her to stop tugging on the leash?

About 3 weeks ago I adopted a two year old collie. He's generally a lovely dog, but does have some behaviour issues which I'm taking him to training for in a couple of weeks. Basically he thinks he's the boss.
I was just watching Dog Borstal and a woman was on having problems with her dog and it was recommended that she change the dogs name because he didn't respond well to his original one.
My dog was called Lou and Louie and, whilst he responds to this, he doesn't take too much notice if he's really carried away with something. How do I go about changing it and does anyone have any suggestions for a new one?
