Betta unlike most fish get their air from the surface of the water. So they can be effected by drafts. That said as long as the difference in water temp, and air isn't great it's no a big deal. (Is his tank right next to the air conditioner? Is it covered?)

Also remember betta are tropical fish, and in fact prefer warmer water than most tropical fish. 75-85F being a good range. If the rest of your house is in that range I'd put the betta there. I wouldn't worry about temps unless their water temp starts to get over 90F, or under 70F. 21C ~=70F, 32C ~= 90F

Don't see why not! I had fish for years in an air conditioned room. You do want to probably get a thermometer and make sure the temp stays regulated. If it changes it can kill the fish. I had a small heater in mine that kept the temperature the same.

Fish can live in a room that has air, but the tank should have a heater in it.

I have a betta fish too he is my newest fish. The last fish i had didnt have a heater and he was very unhappy. the water should be 75-85 degrees otherwise they wont be very active and will get sluggish so i think you should get a heater for your tank if your worried about the water being too cold for your fish. My fish loves the warm water and is always blowing bubbles!

The fish should be fine as long as the tank has suitable water in it for that particular species, is filtered + has a heater inside it which attaches to the inside of the tank with sucker pads.

filter out and about 5 White Cloud Mountain Minnows is all i can imagine of, they could tolerate temperatures as low as 21 degree C. once you've a room cooler than that, you want a heater. in case you had a 20 gallon you've pulled off a unmarried fancy goldfish interior the air conditioned room. regardless of this, with a filter out.

Fish live/come from the ocean and it gets pretty damn chilly down there. Of course. Even if the water would actually freeze, there's a good chance that once it thawed, your little beta would spring "back to life.".....happens w/ goldfish all of the time!

if you have a light on the tank chances are it warms the water enough to compensate for the air conditioner. no worries.
