He is about a year old now, a rescue dog. His name now is Junior, but he doesn't listen to it, and I think a new name in a new home is a good start. He is pitbull dog, mainly all white with a brindle head and a few spots on his back. I have another Pit at home and her name is Gypsy. I'd like a name that is compareable to hers, and maybe strating with a S, but that is not the most important. I don't want a name that is sick or mean sounding. I don't think that should be attached to these breeds. He is a little shy, but very lovable, and playful.. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

How about Gentry or Spiro. He will begin to respond to his new name in time with the right love and attention. Junior was probably not his original given name anyway.....most rescue places give them names. We renamed a 4 year old dog and he answered to it after only a few treats.

I like names that are a little different. I work at a vet clinic & always hear the same names over & over. I like the names Simple, Saxon, Satchmo & Scout. If he's not responding to a new name you may have to call him for example Saxon Jr. Eventually you should be able to the the the Jr.
