He stays in our house all day, every day with no problems. When we are out of town he has to stay with her. She doesn't want to, but kennels him while she is gone. He will still even occasionally pee in the house while she is at home.

My children always had pet rats when they were children, and as classroom pets. They are smart, can learn their names be trained. I have so many good memories of our pet rats. Like one particular rat we had as a class pet: The kids would get the rat out and this rat LOVED to jump. So, the kids would put her one one desk. Then they'd all gather around another desk, because if you were standing close she'd just climb up your shirt. But she wanted you to pick her up really bad so the kids would gather around another desk that was about 2 feet from the desk the rat was on. Then they'd call her. AND she'd jump to the desk like a little sailing acrobat to get to the kids. (We put a pillow on the floor, just in case.) Also, some of the kids would take the rats out of the cage and put them in their desk. Then you'd see the rats crawling on them then back in the desks. On day, one of the kids forgot the rats in their desk. We looked back and they were running to catch up our line.

It's a budgie, we just got it today, it still has fresh water. Right now, it's up in its cage in my room -- its so cute!!

Anyway, I was wondering, how often should I change its food and water? Every 6 hrs, every 8 hours? Advice?

I have noticed for the last 2 weeks a pet belonging to a resident of our 4 plex has been living outside on the second story porch with no food, little water, no shelter and a few soiled blankets to lay on. The entire porch is covered in feces and urine, and this is an untreated wooden porch. Another friend of mine has already called it in a week ago, but it appears this person hasn't changed a thing. It's the middle of winter and we live in Kansas. It's cold and wet out! Should I report this again? I have pictures of the living conditions and I hate seeing any pet suffer like that.

My cat learned the hard way unfortunetly about messing with table cloths and books as one fell on her head the other day while she tugged on the cloth. She is fine but has a lump on her head. Is in just swelling or should we run to the vet?

I've known multiple hybrid wolves, three being 97% wolf and the other being 93%. They were extreamly sweet dogs, and very friendly and were actually somewhat shy. I never saw any traces of aggression in them. However, my boyfriend thinks that theyre mean and will kill humans. Can anyone tell me anything good about them so I can show him something to possibly convince him of letting us have one?

I want to adopt a chihuahua from a pet rescue but i heard that chichuahuas latch on to ONE person only. my current dog does that and that person isn't me and it upsets me a little because he won't even let me pet him. How can i improve my chances of being this chihuahuas favorite person?

The day befor x-mas my Mom who is caring for my dog, fed her some turkey, etc. The next day she began vomiting and the runs, both containing blood. we took her to the vet the day after christmas, they checked her blood count, and checked her for other things, gave her an IV to replinish from fluid loss, gave her some med's, kept her overnight, then placed her on special food... she isnt running fever, but she isnt acting normal. The vomiting has lessened, but the runs have continued, we are having trouble getting her to eat much of anything now! We called the vet back, but they never returned our calls, I am very very worrried about her. The vet seemed to think her bowels have just been irretated and inflamed from the turkey etc. she had the day before x-mas.. Any help would be appreciated. She is an 8 year old min pin, only other medical condidtion is fatty tumors on her chest area. Thanks ahead of time. Brandy in KY

Does anyone have solid info as to how this method compares in effectiveness over the long term for different people (not the 'whisperer') of differing ages and sexes vs. that of the more conventional animal behaviorist approach.

A bunch of bucks can be at play here in making the right choice, much less the impact which a botched training approach will have on the animal and owner.

Okay everything I have read says that Pugs are hard to housetrain, but it doesn't say why. Does anyone have anything that worked for them housetraining their Pug? Ours is a 6 month old neutered male, well mannered well trained. He is COMPLETELY crate trained. But, when I let him in the house after being outside, he doesn't signal that he needs to go out. I always let him out right after removing him from the crate, after he eats or drinks, and before I put him in his crate to make sure he goes "potty", but he still goes potty in my house. Any ideas? Any help would be great. I have housetrained a dog before, but this little man is proving to be more difficult.

I am currently questioning my carrer path and I need help. I have always always wanted to open up a Humane Society for homeless animals. I want to be able to spay and neuter cats and dogs, but I don't want to be a ful fledge veterinarian. Is that possible? I have heard of veterinary specialists. Could I do that?

How many years of school does a vetrinarian have to go to school? Thanks!
