I have noticed for the last 2 weeks a pet belonging to a resident of our 4 plex has been living outside on the second story porch with no food, little water, no shelter and a few soiled blankets to lay on. The entire porch is covered in feces and urine, and this is an untreated wooden porch. Another friend of mine has already called it in a week ago, but it appears this person hasn't changed a thing. It's the middle of winter and we live in Kansas. It's cold and wet out! Should I report this again? I have pictures of the living conditions and I hate seeing any pet suffer like that.

The situation has been reported once before this time and all the owner did was sweep the feces off the porch. This dog is a puppy, a pitt bull pup who is just the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. I have called it in and hopefully they will take a more swift, direct action this time.

I would definately continue to report it. The more you bother them the more seriously they'll take it. Especially living in a small area where these things arent always taken seriously. If they are doing that to the dog in the open imagine what could be going on on the inside of the home.

You can try reporting it but be warned that the officials in charge of this type of thing don't always react. You can also try contacting activist groups such as PETA but they tend to do drastic things like possibly protest outside the house or send someone there to steal the pet. I know a few people who often 'rescue' pets but it requires stealing them. Though it is a crime per se, the pet, the owner AND the neighborhood is often better off so long as the stealing is for a good purpose and not to use the dog for fighting or something. I am not condoning stealing the dog but I know a lot of people who have liberated animals in this way.

If you really " hate seeing a pet suffer like that" and nobody else is doing anything about it - it's up to you.
\ By all means report it to everyone you can think of, but if nothing happens in 24 hours I suggest you rescue this animal. The owners obviously dont care about it and you may be it's only chance.....

YES! Report it again. Go to the station. Help out the pet as best you can as well. Talk to the man in charge --- they aren't ready to handle a pet in that condition! The poor thing could die if it gets too cold, get help before it's too late!

Yes and keep calling and tell anyone who will listen until something gets done about it.
That is sick and I feel sorry for the poor animal. No creature should have to live like that. They all deserve a warm well feed loving home.

YES...Please report this! I volunteer for a Humane Society and we see so much abuse and neglect! And do as the others have said...call as many organizations as you can...and let them see the pictures..and have them come out as soon as possible! The poor animal shouldn't have to suffer!

Report this as many times as it takes. Often, it's the law that whatever agency responds must leave so many notices to comply and check back so many times before they can take action. Report it every day if you have to, they'll do something as soon as it becomes legal.

wow. you should definitely call her in.
i suggest calling the owner
give it a day
no more
and then i would call pet control
that dog could die because of neglection.
i am sorry if you lose the friendship with the owner
but you need to think if that is more important than the life of an innocent animal

YES! Call not only your local police department but the ASPCA
in your area. Keep calling until something is done about it.
Try calling your local newspaper as well. That poor animal needs
intervention and fast.
