Due to my puppy (8 months at the time) starting to chew pillows and blankets etc when I was at work I had to start putting her in a cage. I have a small one and a big one, she goes to the bathroom in both. In the big cage I put her bed and toys and she had room to use the bathroom if she couldn't hold it that long but she will go poop in her bed!!! or else on the cage then walk through it and smash it everywhere!!!! When I am home and at night she is fine housebroken and doesn't have accidents so if she can hold it at night why not when I'm at work ? I have even tried not feeding her before work and I always take her out right before I leave. She is 13 months old now I am tired of cleaning a cage everynight!!!! If I put her in the smaller cage she will still pee then I have to clean the cage and her!!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I read up on them and found that they are brackish water fish, and my aquarium is a freshwater tank. I have been using aquarium salt made of evaporated sea water, and that seems to have been good enough for my 2 blackfin sharks and molly, I have many other fish besides those, but those require the most salt. Please tell me If my Dragon Goby will do ok, and how much salt should I add to the tank, and how often. Also, if i use a small amount of marine salt, will that hurt my other fish? (Peacock eels, tiger barbs, gold gourami, serpae tetras, platys, upsidedown catfishes)

ok.
so my dad just got this new cat door for my cats to go out of so we can put the litter box in the garage so it wont stink up the laundry room. well apparently, my cats are to retarded to figure out how to go through. we open it for them and they go through, but if they want out, they just stand there stupidly waiting for someone to let them out. any suggestions?

My 6 month old kitten, has developed a swollen bottom lip. He's eating normally, going to the bathroom normally and playing normally. Just don't know what to do about it. My vet said to keep an eye on it for a few days, it's been 5 days, and it hasn't gotten any better or worse. I've been giving him antibiotics from the vet from his neutering/declawing surgery that he had about 3 weeks ago. (He developed an infection in his paws, but that has gone away.) I've also tried, based on my vets advice putting neosporin on it, but he just licks it off. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Hi I bought a golden gecko on December 26, and the pet store that I bought him from said that he was a kind of Gecko to be held and loved and stuff. But today December 29 I go to feed him and he woun't eat. I have been holding like a million times a day. And I went onto the web to see why he isn't eating and I read that Golden Geckos don't like to be held and they will go into stress easily and die if you hold them. So what should I do becasue the pet store gave me false information. He hasn't eaten in 3 days. I need some advice. Please!!

She spent about 90% of her time in the family room before he left--I just figured it was her favorite place. But now, she'll go anywhere in the house. She'll even come into my room at night and curl against me and go to sleep.

I don't know if this matters, but she never approached my ex or cuddled against him. So I don't think she misses him.

Three months ago, I adopted a 2 year old boston terrier from a shelter. The employees were not sure if she had been abused or not, or just not socialized well.

She loves people and most other dogs, which leads me to believe she was not abused. But, she gets frightened at sudden movements. Above everything else, she is unsure at what it means to play, which can be very frustrating. When given any toy or treat, she ignores it.

When visiting my family, she got along with other dogs very well, but once back at home without other pets, she goes back to her old self. She simply plops back down on the couch, not doing much of anything. It is frustrating because I know she has it in her, but I cannot have a second dog.

Are there any tips for how to teach her to play more, or to be excited about life? I've heard boston terriers are full of energy, but I've yet to really see that in her when playing with her one on one. Could training possibly help this? Thanks for any and all help

I keep being told that the biting, sudden pouncing, and growling is just the puppy in her, however I've had dogs/puppies my entire life and never has one been as aggresive as she is. I know all puppies do this but she seems a little mean. I've tried anything and everything to get her to stop biting she just gets worse with each attempt. I can handle the biting however she was a Christmas gift for my 2 girls, the youngest being 8 can't play with her puppy. Any advice? Thanx.

My poodle that is 12 weeks old is coughing weird. I’m not sure if it’s a cough, he is sick or he is trying to vomit, but he sounds like a cat that is about to get their hair out of their mouth. However, when that happens, nothing comes out, he just opens his mouth. He also have semi watery stool. He sleeps a lot and he is also very energetic (but not strong), so he doesn’t look sick… Please help!

I have 4 Bettas in a 10 gallon tank with dividers, and they always get pissed off when they look at each other. I think it's because they're finally happy because I put the heater in there, but I think by being too active and pissed off, they might get stressed out and die really fast. So I was thinking of putting plants and rocks between the dividers so they won't see each other that much anymore. So is that a good idea and what do you think I should do otherwise?

I am thinking about getting a bunny for my daughter, she is 6 years old and we do have cats already. She is able to handle animals well (knows to be gentle blah blah blah) I know also that I will be the one to be most responsible for the care (as far as making sure it is taken care of, she will have chores related to the care but I understand it is ultimately on me) I am looking for adive from people that have bunnies and kids (maybe even a cat or 2) on the kinds of bunnies to get, how old should they be, where is a good place to get them (not a huge fan of petstores to buy animals from but I am not sure about bunnies) also what kinds of things I would want to get for the bunny ( I know about the cage and everything but again things that bunny owners find helpful to have) food and things like that I know a little about but (I honestly dont know that much about pet bunnies, except that so far I really like them) thank you very much for your help

Adopting animals isn't an option because of my living circumstances but i was interested in helping out at an animal shelter. I work feeding and cleaning crates at a dog kennel so i'm used to being around a lot of animals but i wish i could do more to help. I am only 16 though, would the shelters still be willing to supply me with work?

she is so....aah!!!! she's reaching my limits. she bark like crazy, like she's having a heart attack, its annoying the heck outta me, am sure that my neighbors feel the same way. i've tryed EVERYTHING, punishing her by putting her in her cage, right after i talk to her firmly, spraying her with water, taking away her privilages like laying on my bed. tapping her nose. she'll go crazy barking but as soon as i look at her she will stop, but still grouls, as soo as a turn around, she'll go at it again. she has barked by my ear sooo many times when we are at the couch. i've even hit her with my tv remote, but that doesnt work, time out...nothing works, please help, should i put a muzzle on her?

My cat has developed a bald patch on the back of one of his legs. There are also some fairly hard, raised ball-like sections on it. He licks and bites it fairly often, and doesn't like me going near it.

The vet gave me some anti-allergy stuff to put on it. It seemed to get a little better, but now that it ran out it is getting worse again.

Anyone know what this might be?

I know that this might sound wierd, but every know and then my dog with randomly start having a dream and will wag her tail as she is asleep on the floor or in her bed. Do your animals ever do this? I must admit it is quite cute! I wonder what they dream about.....

I have an 11 month old female Siberian Husky and she is not acting as she normally would. She is laying around all day, sleeping, and I haven't seen her eat in two days. Normally she is running around playing with my cats and me. What could be wrong, and what can I do? The vet is closed until Tuesday!
