I am thinking about getting a cichlid. Should I just get one or two? Is there anything else that I should put in the tank?

The room I keep them in is a bit cold. It is inside my house in a spare bedroom that does not have heat installed yet. I put a lot of bedding in their cages and little igloo homes. Is that Ok?

My dog steals socks out of the hamper. He usually just sits in the living room with them hanging out of his mouth, until someone notices. When he sees that we see him, he starts shaking a little. We'll grab the sock and sternly say "Drop it!" Then we return the sock to the hamper.

Half the time, he drops it. But the rest of the time, he flips onto his back, exposes his tummy, and cries, still holding onto the sock.

To me, it seems as though he knows he isn't supposed to have the sock, yet he won't let go. Why? Is there something in our response that is encouraging his sock-stealing?

We do not hit him, and neither did his previous owners. His previous owners did bribe him with treats to get him to drop the socks, so they pretty much trained him to steal socks.

I've recently purchased a DAP difuser (one that plugs in) for my 6 month old puppy who is very attached to me and cries loudly and constantly when I'm gone (I can hear him from more than a block away!). I'll be going back to work part-time soon, and I'm trying to slowly get him used to spending time alone. The DAP seemed to help the first few times we used it. But the last time I used it he cried (more like screaming really!) the whole time I was gone and when I got back he ran all over looking for where the DAP scent was coming from. He's done that several times. When he finds it, he sniffs at it madly, almost as if he thinks it's another dog. If I unplug it, he runs like mad all over the apartment looking for the scent. Does anyone have any experience with DAP? What about the collars or the spray, how do they work?

My Budgie rejected her 15 day old chick and I am hand rearing it. I am doing well, she/he is taking food easily and I am confident of the sweet little things survival. It is a very pale Yellow colour with Red eyes.
I wonder what would be a suitable name. Any suggestions, please?

I take her outside about every hour and anytime she seems to be sniffing or searching. Still no luck. she is better than she was but it is getting old. i have a shitzhu there is nothing wrong with it's diet and it is treated nice every single day, but recently he has started to get mardy. He is not an old dog, but he growls if you stroke him, talk to him or even look at him. He never used to be like this and there is no reason for him to have turned this way. Dog schools are out of the question, so what can i do at home?

What type of food is best? I currently have the sinking pellets, although they don't sink very well. They also aren't swimming very well. They kind of stay at the bottom and don't swim very high? Is that normal?

Just get a new kitten a couple of days ago, that I guess it is less than one month old (very small). The kitten had been meowing almost non stop and is following me around the house.

I think the kitten didn't eat the cat food or the milk too, I had only saw it drinking a bit of water.

Any suggestion? (most important of all, get it to stop meowing non stop)

My cat grew up as an in-door pet, n have always used the kitty litter. But for the past 3 years, she spends a lot of times outside. So I was hoping she'd do her business outside, but she always waits til she gets home to go. How do I train her to go outside n stop using the kitty litter?

It's a 5-gallon tank.. I want to get a couple fish and a small turtle OR frog... Are there any frogs and/or turtles that will live underwater 100% of the time and don't have to come up above water on some sort of perch. If so.. what fish and turtles/frogs can live harmonious together and not want to each one another? I'm going tonight to pick out my new aquatic friends, so any and all serious answers would be of much help! Thanks!

A guy down the road called me to come take a look at his iguana. Apparently it had fallen or was dropped and it was dragging its back legs. It is about a 16 inches or so long. I have a large red tail boa on a live yucci plant in my living room that hasn't been fed yet this week. Would it be relatively safe to feed it to him instead of just letting it die?

I have a pit bull (ok, stop shaking your head now) and he is a runt. He is almost a year old and won't get much bigger than he is now. My husband and I have taken VERY good care of him. He is smart, SWEET, house trained, and very gentle with children and anyone else he sees. We did not train him to be an attack dog. He won't even bark is a stranger comes to the house. That being said - here is the sad news (No, he didn't turn):::

My husband and I both are being transferred to Rankin County, MS, which has a ban on pit bulls and rott weilers (not to mention we are moving into an apartment complex). We have no one to give our baby to, and no one that is interested in having him wants him for the right reasons. We love our dog very much, and do not want to get rid of him, but we have no choice.
HELP!!! I don't know what to do!! I do not want him to rot in an animal shelter!!
