Hampsters are nocturnal (they sleep during the day, awake at night). He is prolly ill with you for waking him up. Try again after nightfall. The place you bought it should have told you this... but don't expect him up during the day.

And the eating thing - you got him yesterday.. he's tired.. give him a bit of time.. if he's not eating by Tomorrow then take him to the vet.

The poor hamster is just probaly tirred. If it wont move un;less tempeted or awake. O and remeber spelling. Oh it could also be a girl and be pregnent. SO feed 'it' and if that dose not work tempt it with other foods so it will exercise, because the more it sleeps and eats the fatter 'it' will get.Meaning slower and tireder, that might be the problem

Hamsters are a nocturnal animal. To check the sex of it, look at its area and if the two holes are far away then its a male. If there close then its a Female.

Hamsters are nocturnal( night creature). That's why your supposed to get one of those squeeky round treadmills they make for hamsters. So everyone in the house can share the experience of hamster ownership...lol

Hamsters sleep during the day, so I would suggest leaving it alone and letting it sleep.

It's also pretty easy to know if your hamster is a boy or girl; the boys have very HUGE balls.

Hamsters are nocturnal. They sleep most of the time. Please leave the poor creature alone. It's probably frightened. Wouldn't you if a gigantic hand came and picked you up out of your house and put you in another house where more gigantic hands poked and prodded you?

Hampsters are nocturnal. So, they sleep during the day and stay awake at night. Please don't keep him awake much during the day as they are prone to illness when they don't get enough rest.
