Just get a new kitten a couple of days ago, that I guess it is less than one month old (very small). The kitten had been meowing almost non stop and is following me around the house.

I think the kitten didn't eat the cat food or the milk too, I had only saw it drinking a bit of water.

Any suggestion? (most important of all, get it to stop meowing non stop)

I had tried giving it some meat and raw fish too, it doesn't seems interested.

But why is it only following me around? I am not the person who get the kitten at our house in the first place.

It probably misses it's mother and may not have eaten solid food before.I am concerned that It may not be old enough to be weaned. They are usually weaned between 6and 8 weeks old.You could try tearing up a slice of bologna or a wiener or ham in very small pieces and see if it will eat it .If the kitten will still not eat it would be best to return it to its mother until it is old enough if this is not possible you will have to get a bottle and formula for it and feed it that way which you can get from a vet or pet store You are the one that is trying to take care of it .It is bonding to you..Good Luck

Your kitten is way, way too young to have been removed from it's mother and siblings. Kittens should not be taken from their mothers until they are at least 2 months old.

It is simply lonely. It is a baby, you see - and needs the nuturing and companionship of it's mom and brothers/sisters. That is why the constant meowing. Mine did the same.

If you can, get it back to it's mother until it is at least 2 months old. And even then, after you take it home again, make sure you get it a friend. If for some reason you can't get it back to it's mom now, then get it a friend now. Believe it or not, 2 kittens or cats is much easier to deal with than only one. They keep each other company, they sleep together, they play together - they love each other. It won't follow you so much because it will have a companion and friend. And then you won;t feel so bothered or guilty even, for shooing it away.

Regarding food, again it is very young and is probably also very hungry (thus another reason for the meowing) - it needs it's mothers milk. You can get mother's milk replacement from a vet - do not give it regular milk. Milk is bad for kittens and cats. And later on, after a few more weeks, try wet kitten food - the small cans. Try science diet kitten food or another good brand. Just always give it fresh water. But once it has a friend - you will be amazed at the change, even in its eating habits.

Give a nice area it can calls it own, with a warm towel or blanket to curl up on and a scratching post nearby.

The meowing could be a result of it's new enviroment. When you first got it you should have kept it in one small room or area and gradually introduce it to the rest of the house. Since you have only had the kitten for a couple of days now it may not be too late to try this.
Considering that it is less than a month old and they are not usually weined until 6 weeks you may have to bottle feed or you could try a canned food mixed with some warm water.

You souldn't try feeding it raw fish or meat. You need kitten food perferably canned. Stay with it when you feed it. Don't put the food down and walk away or it will leave the food and follow you.

It's following you becouse it likes you because you tried to feed it.

Get her some toys to play with. If she is still around a month old, she needs a mother like figure right now because she is mother-less. She's still a young baby and at this age, she needs her mother still. Go to Petsmart and find some kittens milk because it is formulated just for kittens. You shouldn't be giving her meat this early in her life and regular milk can be harmful to her.

Petsmart has special kitten's milk and a product that you can buy so it looks like she's drinking the milk from her mom. You have to hand feed her this. Regular kitten chow won't work just yet because of her age.

The reason she is probably following you around is because she sees you as a mother-like figure. Someone to play with as well. So pick her up and cuddle with her and make her feel welcomed because being that little, she is probably lonely and scared because all of these big people are walking around her. The meowing is normally want tiny kittens that young do. She just wants attention and since she doesn't have another kitten playmate, you need to fill in that spot for her and help her out!

Call up your vet and ask them what you should do to help calm the meowing. Also go to Petsmart and get what I stated above because that will help you out alot. Pick up some toys and maybe a kitten condo. That helped my kitten adjust to her new surroundings and she sleeps on it every night since I adopted her. Its comfort to her. Good luck with your new kitten!

Cats are for the most part nocturnal(sleep thru the day and roam at night). It is missing it's mother and litter mates. DO NOT FEED RAW MEAT. You will give it worms. Try putting it in it's bed with a small stuffed animal and a blanket ALSO an alarm clock that ticks. (resembles heartbeat of mom). It will stop in a few days I'm sure on it's own, but can try this in the meantime. It will have something soft to snuggle too and a "heartbeat " to listen to. Can try hot water bottle too for warnth. but just very warm, not HOT. Be sure the food you are giving it is soft enough for it to chew and not too big.(kitten chow mixed with some milk or a little canned food. ) If it is too hard or big it's small teeth can't chew it.

Oh, the poor kitten. It's too young to be seperated with it's mother. It must be very frighten. And it seem now thinks you're the new mommy - so you're expected to cuddle n comfort it as much as you can. She might also suck on you or your clothes - let her - it helps to make her feel more secure. I strongly suggest taking it to a vet or at least call them n ask for some professional advice. In the mean time, buy some kitten milk from the pet store; cuddle it with a warm n fluffy blanket. If you have to leave the poor kitten, place it in a box with a teddy bear to cuddle up - will help it to feel a bit more secure.
Good luck:)

First of all, if the kitten is only a month old, it's too young to be away from its mother and to be weaned yet. They aren't usually weaned till about 6 weeks. If it was taken away from its mother too soon, it will not be ready for solid food yet. Take it to the vets and ask about feeding while you're there, plus it should have a checkup and its shots.

Secondly, it's in a new place and feels a bit lost and lonesome, so you will need to spend some time playing and cuddling with it. That's one of the pleasures of having a new kitten, they are adorable!

Have you ever owned a kitten. Apparently not.
Kittens especially young ones need to be with their mother until they are al least 2 weeks old and in some cases up to a month.
You are now it's mother it wants to be with you and cuddled for warmth and security. Make sure the fod you are giving it is the right food. It may be to big or hard for it's little teath. Try holding it and feeding it a softer food or even canned food. People think that cats just show up and automatically do nothing but sleep and roam around the house and sit on your lap when you want for hours. Cats have more personality and individuality than most people do. They need to be treated how they expect to be or they will not be happy. If the Kitten wants you to pick it up and carry it around for the next few days do it as much as you can otherwise you'l have a pretty sour puss on your hands.

A kitten that small is not yet ready for its own meal nor drink. You should buy those small pippettes used to milk the kitten. It's sold in pet stores. It just needs you to grab her, she wants warmth and a place to suckle on (yes, i'm not kidding. you have to make the sacrifice. It NEEDs to have a suck on YOU). Give it your hand, it might suck on between your fingers, or lay down and let it roam your neck, and it might suck on your EAR! Not kidding here. My Mom and I have been adopting stray cats (mostly abandoned newborn kittens), and this is just a must-do. You're a MOMMY..!! LOL. Make sure you make out time to pay her enough attention to play-pamper-potty. Good luck now. And if you don't really feel like taking care of her, just go to the nearest pet store and trade her in for an iguana :))

You really should have done your homework before adopting this baby. It's way too young and obviously very hungry. Get it to a vet now and they will provide you with the proper training to feed and care for your new cat.
