What type of food is best? I currently have the sinking pellets, although they don't sink very well. They also aren't swimming very well. They kind of stay at the bottom and don't swim very high? Is that normal?

They are saltwater fish.

Clowns will swim all over the aquarium, but they don't swim real *well*. One of mine swims with his head up all the time. Looks like he's drowning. Unless there's a reason they're not swimming high (too powerful a current from a powerhead?) I wouldn't worry about it. They don't call them 'clowns' for nothing.

It's always best to give your fish a variety of foods. Mine love mysis shrimp (frozen) and Cyclopeeze (flake or frozen). If nothing else works to get them eating, try some brine shrimp, though that shouldn't be all you give them as its essentially junk food. As noted above, its completely normal for newly added fish to go off food for a few days. If they're new, find out what the store was feeding them and try some of that.

Clown fish are not specific to any level of swimming in an aquarium. They do like to have rocks, caves, plants, ornaments to hid in. I would suggest trying tropical flake food for them as well. Look for tubifex by Wardley's. It is available at most Walmart stores. They will most likely eat that as well. Check your PH level, they need to be close to neutral. This is information intended for the freshwater clown. If you have a marine aquarium, there would be some different information. Thank you and Good Luck

If the clownfish are new, they are likely just stressed and getting used to thier new environment. It may take a day or two before they can feel comfortable and eat and swim around more.

If it lasts more than 2-3 days, I would worry about illnesses.
