I have two yorkie.....The first one is a one year old male. I have had him since he was a pup, He was easy to house and has never distroyed anything....Then I got a female, She is 5 months old now and I can't seem to house train her completely. I take her outside about every hour and anytime she seems to be sniffing or searching. Still no luck. she is better than she was but it is getting old. There are times when I take her outside and then within 5 minutes of returning to the house she goes potty inside. I am at whits end...any suggestions?

taking her out every hour is too much
first thing they go out to pee and you MUST go out with them.. have a soft treat reward and offer it to her immediately for peeing - then in to eat... usually dogs poop within 20 minutes of eating - running stimulates the bowels - so after eating its back outside to plan and poop - again you MUST go and reward Immediately..
usually when you have 2 dogs the new one learns from the first.
back inside it should be several hours before she needs to go out again.. watch her closely when she circles and sniffs the ground she is getting ready so out you go again....always have soft treats in your pocket so you are ready...
you can buy training aid sprays you spray where you want them to go this might help
crate the dog when you are not home or at night..
consistant training is the key

I know with my yorkie, my vet told me to take him out, let him go potty and as soon as he had gone once to take him back into the house. That way he figures out why we were outside. Then, if he did have an accident, I took him outside immediately, even if it meant grabbing him in mid-stream. He caught on very quickly and I don't have any problems now.
