A little sprinkle of cayenne pepper does the trick. They don't like the smell when they kick it up digging.

You may want to consider a sandbox where they are allowed to dig. Just pepper the yard, and bury some toys and treats in the sandbox. They'll figure out soon enough where it's fun to dig, and where it's not.

Your dogs probably want to get out more or they are ready to mate. If they are old enough though. It really helps if you cut their nails if they aren't cut, but sometimes they still can dig with their nails clipped. It would help to make them a special area in your yard to stay there so they wont dig in your better part of the yard.lol. But that's what I did to my other dog I used to have. Even though your dogs dig, it's better that they have an area to dig in than to mess up the whole yard. It worked for my old dog. Mostly you can punish them if you catch them digging, dont really hit it but just like a tap on the butt or just saying no.

Vet and obedience trainer both told us to bury their poop in the holes. We didn't have to do it for more than a week and the dog seemed to get the idea, or he just outgrew the digging (though on occassion he'll still find something to hunt for ... usually 1 or 2 a year) good luck

Our dog had this problem when we first got her. Blow up a few balloons and bury one in each of the holes. When they go to dig, the balloon will pop. It doesn't hurt them, it just makes a loud noise, and that scares them out of digging again.

They need something else to do.
More toys, walks. I saw this neat dog puzzle
on TV, that you put their food, or treats in. They
had to work at getting it out.
They wouldn't have time to dig.

If they're like most dogs you can eventually train them not to do that by correcting them when they dig.

If they're Huskies......well, sorry about your yard.
