Hi I bought a golden gecko on December 26, and the pet store that I bought him from said that he was a kind of Gecko to be held and loved and stuff. But today December 29 I go to feed him and he woun't eat. I have been holding like a million times a day. And I went onto the web to see why he isn't eating and I read that Golden Geckos don't like to be held and they will go into stress easily and die if you hold them. So what should I do becasue the pet store gave me false information. He hasn't eaten in 3 days. I need some advice. Please!!

Well make sure water is available for it to at least drink. Because and animal will die from dehydration before starvation. And leave food available and don't interact with it.I had the same problem with my anole and that is what i did. It is the only thing i can think of but what ever you do don't give up on it PLEASE!

Take it back to the store and demand your money back.
I know it's hard, you're probaby super attached to the little guy and want what's best for him, but you will be sending them a message not to do this to other people.
Bring a print out of the sites as proof.
At this point, there is no way to tell if it will live. It would be hateful to try to nurse him back to health (by leaving strictly alone in a properly warm, humid cage with lots of UV light), only to have him die anyway.
Also, if he does make it, you will be stuck with a pet that doesn't like you. Do you want that?

Consider a leopard gecko. They are more people friendly, but a little fragile.
Bearded Dragons are larger and more people friendly. They make great pets that will actually like you.
Russian Tortoises and Chinese Box Turtles make wonderful pets. They stay small and have surprising personalities.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!
BEFORE you get another pet, do lots of research. You will have more knowledge than the stupid petstore people who only want to make a buck by selling the animals before they drop dead.
AND
You will avoid this tradgedy in the future.

I'm so sorry you're going through this!

You should find out exactly what food the pet store was feeding them and try that. Some animals are friendly, others like to be by themselves. You can't say that all dogs love being around people, because not all do. Your gecko may like humans. o.O Who knows? I'd still leave him alone for a while, and let him get comforatable with his new surroundings.

you have got to leave it alone. make sure he has the right amount of heat and water. leave a few crickets in there and pretend it does not exist if that does not work in a day or so, get another and put it in there. it will calm your down because its not stressed and will act normal. if you want a lizard that you can hold often, try a sub adult bearded dragon.
